  • Patent number: 11225106
Abstract: A removable spindle assembly improvement comprised of a spindle housing end unit having a threaded cavity. A corresponding threaded removable spindle is torqued into the threaded cavity. The spindle has a tapered section that includes O-rings for creating a seal along the corresponding section of the cavity to prevent corrosion which assists in the elimination of spindle seizure within the spindle housing end unit's cavity. The spindle housing end unit's housing includes at least two threaded apertures that cooperate with sealed set screws for securing the spindle in place during operation. The set screws are placed apart at an odd number of 15 degree increments. This assembly facilitates easy removal and replacement of a spindle on a spring axle.

  • Patent number: 9551388
Abstract: Disclosed is a disk brake caliper assembly where a second seal is positioned in a second annular groove to eliminate the seizure of the piston cylinder that commonly occurs on trailer brakes that are immersed in water. The second seal is slightly deformable and designed to frictionally engage the piston. The second seal functions as both a wiper to keep dirt and contaminants out of the cylinder assembly and to prevent water ingress. The use of the secondary seal can compliment or eliminate the need for a dust boot.

  • Patent number: 7740036
Abstract: A system for pressurizing wheel hub formed from an air-tight sealing arrangement located on each end of a wheel hub to form a closed air system in the interior of the wheel hub. The closed air system fluidly coupled to a DC power air compressor or pressurized air tank for receiving pressurized air. A pressure gauge provides a visual indication of the air pressure in the closed air system whereby a breached seal condition within the wheel hub can be detected.

  • Patent number: 7332112
Abstract: An apparatus and method for forming a densified carbon-carbon composite. The apparatus includes: a green part molding station for forming a green part; a carbonization station for carbonizing the green part; and an impregnation station for impregnating the carbonized part with a substantially curing by-product free, high carbon yield resin. The impregnation station includes a mold forming a sealed enclosure configured in the shape of the carbonized part for receiving the carbonized part and a vacuum source for evacuating the mold. At least one resin injection port is in the mold and a supply of substantially curing by-product free, high carbon yield resin is connected to the resin injection port for injection into the mold. In the preferred embodiment, the substantially curing by-product free, high carbon yield resin is a cyanate ester having a viscosity of less than about 100 cps at 250° F. and a carbon yield value of greater than about 60 wt. %.

  • Patent number: 7125084
Abstract: A hub cap for a wheel hub having a cylindrical housing with a closed first end and an open second end adapted for attachment in an air-tight sealing arrangement to the outer end of a wheel hub to form a closed air system in the interior of the wheel hub. An air pressure gauge in an air flow connection with the closed air system is operable to provide a visual indication of the air pressure in the closed air system. The air pressure gauge includes a dial face and a pressure indicating needle moving relative to the dial face in direct relation to the air pressure within the closed air system. The dial face includes indicia thereon to assist an observer to readily identify a breached seal condition within the wheel hub.
