  • Publication number: 20200141703
Abstract: Disclosed are coatings applied to a surface, which upon irradiation by a laser beam, results in specular reflection of a portion of the incident laser beam upon said surface, back towards the source of said beam. Furthermore, the coating may also result in diffuse reflection of another portion of said laser beam away from said surface. This reduces the absorption rate of the incident laser energy by the surface, thus lengthening the amount of time, known as the engagement time, needed to compromise the structural integrity of the underlying material. The laser light reflected back towards the source may also interfere with the sensors used by the laser system to focus and/or track the target, an effect known as “dazzling.” This “dazzling” effect may also serve to lengthen the necessary engagement time needed to inflict structural damage on the target. By application of the disclosed coatings, the engagement time may be lengthened to the point where the target would survive the encounter with the laser beam.

  • Publication number: 20190207537
Abstract: Disclosed are devices which harness and manipulate a quantum effect to apply a cyclic, varying pressure to an integral piezoelectric element or elements to produce an electrical current. These devices utilize the Casimir Effect to efficiently produce more power than they consume during operation and can be used in place of most other electrical power sources, such as chemical batteries, in most contemporary applications and open the door to novel applications which may benefit from their ability to produce power without a need to recharge and over their lifespan.

  • Publication number: 20170119200
Abstract: Disclosed are devices which enable the on-demand in situ synthesis of a wide range of beverages or fragrances. The requested product is created component by component under the guidance of a component profile, for that product, which resides in a computerized database. The component by component synthesis of the product is made practical through a collection of component cartridges. These cartridges are similar to those found in ink jet and other printers. Other procedures, such as carbonation, stirring, frothing, heating, and so on, can be performed on the beverage as required by other mechanisms which may be incorporated into the device.

  • Publication number: 20160089431
Abstract: Disclosed are compositions of matter consisting of collections of nanodisks associated with polypeptide immunogens. Each said collection contains multiple epitopes of at least one immunogen. When used as a component of a vaccine, these epitopes are chosen to confer immunity, in the vaccinated subject, against a spectrum of possible infective strains of the target pathogen. This immunity is derived from the various antibodies, to the various epitopes of the immunogen, produced by the adaptive immune system of the subject in response to exposure to said vaccine. In this manner, said vaccine may confer immunity against the entire spectrum of possible infective strains of the target pathogen.

  • Publication number: 20130283797
Abstract: Disclosed are devices which provide a practical means of extracting energy from the electromagnetic zero-point energy which permeates the universe. This is done by exploiting the Casimir-van der Waals' forces to accelerate a fluid through the device and exhaust it with a higher velocity and energy than that with which it entered. This kinetic energy gained by the fluid may then be used to do work, such as spin a turbine for power generation, or provide thrust for direct propulsion. These devices do not consume fuel nor any non-renewable resources during operation and they are capable of generating significantly more energy than they require to start or to be manufactured.
