    Abstract: A protective device fitted to an electromagnetic coil to prevent damage to a thermal protective switch installed in the electromagnetic coil beneath the winding. In a preferred embodiment there is a subsequent encapsulation process following manufacture of the coil. Preferably, said device comprises a protective cap shaped to conform with the shape of the thermal switch and closely fitting the thermal switch and wiring connected thereto.
