  • Patent number: 12576942
Abstract: A suspension fork includes a steerer tube, a crown attached to the steerer tube, and a pair of fork legs extending from the crown. Each fork leg has a hollow stanchion telescopically inserted into a hollow lower. A piston having a piston head separates the stanchion into a positive and a negative air spring chamber. A base is disposed inside the stanchion and is secured to the stanchion such that the base is arranged between a closed end of the lower and the piston head. A floating piston is slidably disposed inside the negative air spring chamber and divides the negative air spring chamber into a first chamber and a second chamber. The floating piston moves towards the piston head in response to a pressure created inside the lower to facilitate a passage of air from the lower to the second chamber through a communication port defined by the base.

  • Patent number: 11299232
Abstract: This invention relates to vehicle suspension systems and devices, and particularly to vehicle suspension systems and devices having an air spring with adjustable and/or tunable characteristics. The vehicle suspension may generally include features for modifying the spring rate of an air spring, such as, for example, to increase initial suppleness and to decrease spiking during later portions of travel. In an exemplary aspect, the fork may include features for decreasing the initial volume of the air chamber of the positive air spring during the initial part of travel and may further include features for expanding the air chamber of positive air spring during a later part of travel.

  • Patent number: 10988143
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method, computer system, and computer program product for cloud integration for autonomous vehicles is provided. An embodiment may include receiving a location for the autonomous vehicle from a global positioning system, may also include determining a rule area in which the autonomous vehicle is located based on the received location, may include identifying a traffic rule set associated with the determined rule area, may also include, in response to determining that the identified traffic rule set is not available for the determined rule area, transmitting a manual mode alert to a user, and may include enabling a manual mode in the autonomous vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10899344
Abstract: A method and system enabling a process for preventing a vehicular accident is provided. The method includes continuously monitoring vehicular impact conditions associated with a vehicle in motion. In response, an imminent impact event associated with the vehicle in motion and an external object is detected and a surface of a roadway below the vehicle in motion is scanned by sensors of the vehicle. Results of the scanning indicate that the roadway surface is safe for deployment of a destructive friction based braking mechanism of the vehicle. The destructive friction based braking mechanism is deployed with respect to a first braking force threshold and it is determined if rate of speed decrease exceeds a specified speed decrease threshold.

  • Patent number: 10625733
Abstract: A method for the delayed parking optimization of an autonomous vehicle includes activating a delayed parking optimization mode in a vehicle and, during the delayed parking optimization mode, detecting a presence of one or more passengers in the vehicle. On condition that no further passengers are detected in the vehicle, a delay period is initiated subsequent to which the vehicle engages the transmission of the vehicle from park to reverse, applies power to cause the vehicle to back out of the parking spot onto the roadway, engages the transmission into drive, applies power and manages steering and braking of the vehicle in order to navigate the vehicle forward on the roadway beyond the parking spot, engages the transmission into reverse, applies power and manages steering of the vehicle to cause the vehicle to back into the parking spot and engages the transmission of the vehicle into park.

  • Patent number: 10547801
Abstract: Detection of an image obstruction is facilitated by, in part, obtaining multiple frames of an image being captured via an imaging device, and confirming movement of the imaging device between the multiple frames. The movement causes perspective shifting of the image between frames and the perspective shifting results in one or more objects of the image shifting between frames. The detection process determines whether an edge object within the multiple frames does not shift in a manner corresponding to the one or more objects between the multiple frames, and based, at least in part, on determining that the edge object does not shift in the corresponding manner to the one or more objects, identifying the edge object as an image obstruction. Presence of the identified image obstruction is signaled to facilitate corrective action being taken.
