  • Publication number: 20080144068
Abstract: A printer includes an acquisition component which acquires image data comprising a set of digital images generated by a digital image generation device, such as a camera. The acquired set of images is stored in memory. A user input device enables a user to select an image category from a plurality of image categories. A processor in communication with the input device and memory identifies a subset of the digital images based on the image category selected by the user. The processor includes a classifier trained to classify images according to image content. A display in communication with the processor displays images in the subset. A marking engine in communication with the processor prints images from the subset selected by the user.

  • Patent number: 6647222
Abstract: A digital printer retains in memory detailed alphanumeric data describing the contents of its paper trays, as well as describing any unusual features thereof. The alphanumeric data is entered at the local user interface of the printer, and is retained at the printer so it can be accessed by a remote user computer as needed. The alphanumeric data can be subject to search techniques by which a large number of printers can be searched for certain print media or other properties.
