  • Patent number: 6123222
Abstract: There is provided a system for dispensing a plurality of nurser liners one at a time. The system includes a dispenser having a bottom wall with an edge that defines a flap, and a plurality of nurser liners stacked in a nesting arrangement. The flap is adapted to move from a first position to a second position in which the flap exposes an aperture in the bottom wall. Each one of the plurality of nurser liners has a single open end, and the open end has a flexible rim with a diameter greater than that of the aperture. The plurality of nurser liners are positioned so that the rims are adjacent the aperture with a lowermost one of the plurality of nurser liners abutting the edge. Accordingly, the edge acts as a dual-sided guide for deflecting the rim inward of the lowermost nurser liner as the rim passes through the aperture, and restricts the remainder of the plurality of nurser liners from moving with the lowermost nurser liner out of the dispenser to overcome friction forces caused by the nesting arrangement.

  • Patent number: 5806711
Abstract: There is provided a nurser liner that facilitates stacking and nesting of the liner while maximizing liner capacity. In particular, it permits a plurality of the liners to be contained within a container having limited internal space while allowing the liners to de-nest properly and individually from the container. The nurser liner includes a rim that is located at one end of the liner and a step that is located a predetermined distance from the rim. In addition, the outer walls of the liner are slightly tapered inward from the rim. The step and the tapered outer walls insure uniform spacings between nested liners for easy dispensing, optimal spacing between liners and maximum liner capacity.

  • Patent number: 4994229
Abstract: A web of thermoplastic material extruded directly into a set of tempering rolls is cooled on its upper and lower surfaces while the interior of the web is kept molten. The partially cooled web is fed onto a converyor on which it is fed to a thermoformer. The web remains on the conveyor until its surface layer in contact with the conveyor is reheated to a thermoformable temperature below that at which the web will stick to the conveyor. Apparatus for feeding a web of thermoplastic material from an extrusion to a thermoformer includes tempering rolls and conveyor means which can be adjusted in their relative positions and to control the length of conveyor means contacted by the web.

  • Patent number: 4722820
Abstract: A web of molten thermoplastics material (4) from extruder die (3) is fed through a pair of temperature controlled rolls (5) having a gap (13) of width less than that of the web thickness leaving the extruder die (3) and is fed from the rolls (5) directly and continuously under uniform tension to a thermoforming machine (9) (10) as a formable web (6) of substantially uniform temperature through its thickness.

  • Patent number: 4639165
Abstract: Subsoil drain strip or sheet elements comprising a core surrounded by a polymer or glass fibre filter cloth. The core has a generally planar configuration with hollow formed-in flat topped projections on one or both sides which create internal volume for flow of water as well as supporting the filter cloth against imposed soil loads. The depth of the supporting projections on each side of the core and their relative spacing is to be such that the surrounding filter cloth is restrained against being forced into the hollow interiors of the projections so that adequate longitudinal flow of water can take place in the strip without the need for additional drainage tubes to be provided. The depth of the projections may be greater than one quarter of their closest spacing. Additionally, the average diameter of the projections may be between 0.2 and 0.35 of their closest spacing.

  • Patent number: 4543054
Abstract: A machine and process for continuously thermoforming molten thermoplastic sheet are provided requiring precise synchronism in the interaction between opposed successions of circulatable tooling steps. A single motor for all the driving mechanisms achieves the desired synchronism and a driven succession of tooling steps itself drives the opposed succession.

  • Patent number: 4480979
Abstract: Apparatus for stretch-forming a heat softened sheet of thermoplastics material. The apparatus includes a stretching tool and means to move the stretching tool relative to means holding the sheet so as to stretch the sheet in a preselected direction with the tool. The stretching tool includes a plurality of blades having edges for pressing against the sheet to stretch the sheet and a cam to move the blades transversely away from each other to stretch the sheet transversely of the preselected direction as the tool is moved to stretch the sheet in the preselected directions.
