  • Patent number: 9994372
Abstract: A closure apparatus for use with a flexible pouch containing a flowable material and having a spout for discharging the flowable material from the pouch, comprising a cap member sealingly engageable with the spout and a clip assembly extending from the cap member, the clip assembly comprising a first clip member; and a second clip member connected to the first clip member and cooperating with the first clip member to define a pouch receiving space, the first clip member and the second clip member having a pouch clip position such that the first clip member and the second clip member restrict the flow of the flowable material through the pouch when at least a portion of the pouch is positioned in the pouch receiving space.

  • Patent number: 9434527
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for manufacturing shelf-stable, multi-compartment products. In a general embodiment, a manufacturing system is provided and includes a continuous manufacturing line including a barrier separating a dry food packaging area from a wet food packaging area. The manufacturing line is configured to manufacture a shelf-stable food product including both a dry food product with no artificial preservatives in a first compartment of a tray and a wet food component with no artificial preservatives in a second compartment of the tray.

  • Publication number: 20150147430
Abstract: Adapters for consumable product packages and methods of using same are provided. The adapters are designed to provide functional features to packages that are not structurally capable of providing such functions. The functional features may include, for example, spill-resistance, flow-control, ease of use, etc. In a general embodiment, the adapters of the present disclosure include a valve comprising an outlet and a cap that is so constructed and arranged to seal the valve. The valve is so constructed and arranged to provide a functional feature and to attach to a package fitment. In another embodiment, packages are provided that include two-component adapters configured to provide specific functional features to the packages.

  • Patent number: 8973425
Abstract: Apparatuses for evaluating the integrity of a container seal and methods of using same are provided. The apparatuses include a sealed container having a conductive fluid and a first probe therein, a conductive solution bath having a second probe therein, a conductivity meter and a pressurized fluid supply. A pressurized fluid is supplied from fluid supply to an interior of the sealed container through the first probe until the seal on sealed container ruptures, first and second probes create an electrical circuit, and the conductivity meter detects a flow of electrons between the two probes. In this manner, apparatuses of the present disclosure are able to quantify the amount of internal pressure in the container at the time the container seal ruptures.
