The computer program executable by at least one processor, the computer program comprising sets of instructions for receiving one or more scanned medications for administration to a selected patient, determining a status of each of the one or more scanned medications, displaying a medication list including at least the one or more scanned medications and the respective status of the scanned medication, selecting one of the one or more medications in the medication list, and addressing any outstanding items associated with the selected medication.

Methods for adding channels to the channel history, tuning channels from the channel history, and generally maintaining the channel history are provided. According to an exemplary embodiment, a method for adding a channel to channel history includes a step of adding a selected channel to the channel history if the channel meets a criterion. According to an exemplary embodiment, a method for tuning channels includes steps of receiving a useable program signal from a first channel, testing for presence of a useable program from a second channel without interrupting the receiving step, and if the useable program signal from the second channel is detected, tuning the second channel.

Abstract: Tool bars are provided along lateral edges of a display of a handheld computing device. The tool bars include icons that represent application features. The user may interact with the application by touching the icons on the display. Since mobile computing devices are commonly held at the lateral sides of the device, navigation and activation buttons are in close proximity to a natural location of a user's thumbs. The proximity of the tool bars to the thumbs increases efficiency and accuracy when interacting with the application. The tool bars may be displayed in an expanded state such that a text label may be displayed to identify the application feature that each icon represents. The tool bars may also include functionality that displays additional information for any of the application features represented by the icons without navigating the application away from the current screen.

Abstract: A video processing apparatus may be controlled in response to selecting an advertisement displayed in connection with a productivity or communication application software program being operated on a video processing apparatus. The advertisement includes control information, which is used by the video processing apparatus to control an operating mode thereof. The control information may include both time and channel data as well as a recording data for programming a timer. Alternately, the control information may only include program data, which is passed to the electronic program guide to determine the time and channel information associated with the program data.

Abstract: An apparatus (20) provides an on-screen menu system that enables users to navigate through the menu system while maintaining a mental map of where they are within the menu system. According to an exemplary embodiment, the apparatus (20) includes a memory (25) and a processor (24). The memory (25) stores data for the on-screen menu system. The processor (24) is operatively coupled to the memory (25) and enables display of a first menu of the on-screen menu system including a title displayed in a first size and a plurality of subtitles displayed in a second size. Each of the subtitles is associated with a different one of a plurality of submenus. The processor (24) receives a user input selecting a first one of the subtitles and, responsive to the user input, enables display of a first one of the submenus associated with the first subtitle with the first subtitle displayed in the first size and the title of the first menu displayed in the second size.

Abstract: A method and apparatus provide an on-screen program guide that uses its space in an efficient manner by shifting program information within the program guide by relatively small time increments. According to an exemplary embodiment, the apparatus includes a memory operative to store data that enables the program guide. A processor is operative to enable display of a portion of the program guide including program information covering a first time interval including a current time. The program guide has time information in a first axis and channel information in a second axis. The processor is further operative to cause the program information to be shifted along the first axis by a second time interval if an elapsed time equals the second time interval. The second time interval is less than thirty minutes.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and system are provided for the automatic replacement of potentially objectionable audio content from an audio signal in real time. In one embodiment of the present invention, the selective filtering of objectionable audio content from an audio signal is accomplished by first marking objectionable audio content in the audio signal with filtering information that identifies the type of objectionable audio content (e.g., crude language, ethnic and racial slurs, cursing, strong profanity) and storing the filtering information and the corresponding location of the objectionable audio content for that particular audio signal. Objectionable audio content having filtering information corresponding to a stored replacement content code determined from a predetermined replacement setting is then automatically replaced with an audio clip corresponding to the replacement setting.

Abstract: An apparatus such as a mobile television signal receiver includes a channel history feature. Abstract: Playback list creation for digital programs in a digital device utilizes navigation path used to locate a particular digital program in a hierarchally-ordered grouping of digital programs, the grouping based on organization parameters of the digital program. The playback list is created from digital programs within the navigation path used to reach the selected digital program. The playback list may be shuffle-played or played in order. Playback of a different digital program causes changes to the navigation path, which then changes the playback list. In an MP3 player, for example, ID3 tag attributes are used as organization parameters to provide hierarchal grouping of digital audio files.

Abstract: A method for controlling viewing of television programs comprising storing user profile records comprising fields having values in a memory; providing a user interface having a list of the stored user profile records; and upon user command, displaying a stored user profile record in summary form in the user interface. Preferably, the user command comprises highlighting a stored user profile record in the list, resulting in the values of the highlighted stored user profile record being displayed in summary form in the user interface.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for rapidly advancing an EPG, wherein a viewer can use a time line to advance an EPG hours, days, weeks and/or months in the future to a desired day and time. The viewer can then advance the time window of the EPG as is conventionally done in one-half hour increments to view desired program listings.
