  • Patent number: 6681661
Abstract: Presented is a detachable and adjustable cover member for the sound hole of a string instrument such as a guitar. The cover member provides a base member to which are attached elastically resilient keeper blocks that detachably engage the periphery of the sound hole. The base member is apertured to admit sound into the hollow body of the string instrument and to enable feedback of such sound when the apertures are open to the atmosphere. An adjustable sound and feedback control dial is a detachably mounted on the top surface of the base member and is provided with apertures corresponding in size and configuration with the apertures in the base member. The control dial may be selectively digitally adjusted to place the apertures in the dial in registry with the apertures in the base member to enable the ingress and egress of sound therethrough or adjusted to partially or totally occlude the passage of sound through the sound hole.

  • Patent number: 6028260
Abstract: Presented is an elongated tubular drumstick incorporating an adjustable weight system mounted within the hollow interior of the drumstick and incorporating an elongated threaded spindle that extends nearly the entire length of the drumstick. Adjustably mounted on the threaded spindle are one or more weights. The weight or weights are locked in position between a pair of nuts threaded onto the spindle. A damper member is provided mounted on the distal end of the spindle at the tip-end of the hollow drumstick, and a plurality of annular ring absorbers or silencers are spaced along the length of the threaded spindle to retain the threaded spindle axially aligned within the hollow drumstick. A retainer plug and cushion member is mounted on the proximal end of the threaded spindle and is press-fitted into the open butt end of the drumstick to removably retain the adjustable weight assembly or system within the drumstick.

  • Patent number: 5557871
Abstract: A brush for cleaning the bore of a gun barrel includes groups of metal bristles and groups of nylon bristles secured to a twisted wire strand. The metal and the nylon bristles are formed into segregated groups and are arranged in successive and alternate sections with the nylon bristles on each side of the metal bristles. The metal bristles are phosphor bronze. The nylon bristles are colored in accordance with a color code to provide ease in identifying the correct brush size to clean a specific caliber bore. The brush also includes a cleaning cloth holder at the end thereof opposite from the end of the brush holding the bristles. The cleaning brush holder includes a small loop and a larger loop for holding different size cleaning cloths.

  • Patent number: 5253386
Abstract: A brush for a hollow structure with an open end includes brush bristles secured to a twisted wire. In one embodiment, a non-abrasive, heat-shrinking plastic tube is slip-fitted over the twisted wire at a section thereof that is free of brush bristles. The heat-shrinking plastic tube is heat-shrunk to form a tight fit with the twisted wire to form a brush handle therewith. In another embodiment, a non-abrasive solid cylindrical body is penetrated along the axis or center line thereof by a section of twisted wire that is free of brush bristles.

  • Patent number: 5060336
Abstract: A device for cleaning an inner wall of a tube for a wind musical instrument. The device includes a semi-rigid rod formed of separable half sections, which define, when contiguous to one another, an axially directed slit. A removable cleaning cloth is secured within the slit between the confronting walls of the half sections of the rod, when the confronting walls of the half sections are contiguous to one another. The cloth extends along the rod in the axial direction substantially the entire distance of the rod, when the walls of the half sections are contiguous to one another.
