  • Patent number: 9435147
Abstract: An Emergency Barricade System (EBS) to protect children in school shootings from harm-doers is disclosed. The EBS comprises a Quickly Activated Bolt Latch (QABL) and an Unlocking Tool (UT). The QABL is attached to the inside surface of a classroom door. In an emergency, the bolt of the QABL can be quickly slid into a bolt-hole by foot pressure. The bolt is held in place in the bolt-hole by a locking means in the QABL. The bolt can be easily unlocked by pressing on a release pin on the QABL. A spring is provided in the QABL to automatically return the bolt to its normal position. An Unlocking Tool is provided to enable rescuers to unlock the QABL from outside the classroom.

  • Patent number: 7325495
Abstract: A hot gas deployment device for safely deploying a “hot” tear-gas canister to flush out barricaded law-resisters. The device includes an internal chamber for inserting the tear-gas canister therein, securing means to secure the canister in place during deployment, and a handle for easy operation. The chamber safely contains the hot-gases produced by the tear-gas canister to reduce the risk of causing a fire in the barricaded space. Tear-gas release orifices on the chamber's housing release the tear-gas from the chamber. One embodiment of the device includes a hollow spear for releasing the tear-gas through walls and other obstructions. Another embodiment of the device is suitable for hurling with a tear-gas grenade launcher.

  • Patent number: 4130032
Abstract: A wrench usable where limited access normally requires an open-end wrench, but which has substantially the high-torque capacity and small radial clearance characteristics of a closed-end wrench. The wrench includes a sleeve forming a nut-engageable socket with a gap in its side, and an adaptor forming a socket with a gap in its side, the adaptor closely surrounding the sleeve and extending across the gap in the sleeve. The sleeve and adaptor have surfaces that become fully engaged when a wrench handle is applied to the adaptor to turn it so as to tighten a nut engaged by the sleeve.
