  • Publication number: 20200003028
Abstract: A method may include receiving, via at least one processor of a cloud-computing system, an indication that a portion of a workflow is complete. Here, the workflow is associated with commissioning one or more well devices at a hydrocarbon site. The method may then include identifying one or more subsequent portions of the workflow to be performed and sending the one or more subsequent portions to one or more computing devices associated with one or more users assigned to the one or more well devices.

  • Publication number: 20190323321
Abstract: A remote terminal unit (RTU) may control one or more operations a well device associated with a hydrocarbon well. The RTU may include a processor that may broadcast a request to communicatively couple to a cloud-computing system. The processor may then receive a confirmation from the cloud-computing system indicating that the RTU has successfully communicatively coupled to the cloud-computing system and send one or more attributes regarding the RTU, the well device, the hydrocarbon well, or any combination thereof to the cloud-computing system. The processor may then receive one or more software packages from the cloud-computing system based on the attributes. Using the software packages, the processor may control the operations of the well device.

Abstract: A system includes a cloud-based computing system communicatively coupled to a first communication network. The system includes one or more remote terminal units (RTUs) configured to control operations of one or more well devices associated with a hydrocarbon well, wherein the one or more RTUs are inaccessible to the first communication network. The system also includes a mobile computing device configured to communicatively couple to the one or more RTUs via a second communication network in response to the mobile computing device being within a coverage range of the second communication network. The mobile computing device is also configured to download data from the one or more RTUs via the second communication network, communicatively couple to the cloud-based computing system in response to detecting access to the first communication network, and transmit the data to the cloud-based computing system via the first communication network.

  • Patent number: 9803472
Abstract: A remote terminal unit (RTU) may control one or more operations a well device associated with a hydrocarbon well. The RTU may include a processor that sends one or more attributes regarding the RTU, the well device, the hydrocarbon well, or any combination thereof to a cloud-based computing system. The processor may then send model data including one or more instructions regarding cloud services to be performed by the cloud-based computing system based on data provided to the cloud-based computing system from the RTU. The processor may then send a request to perform one or more control actions for the operations of the well device to the cloud-based computing system, control the operations of the well device based on the control actions when an approval of the request is received from the cloud-based computing system, and send the data to the cloud-based computing system.

  • Publication number: 20150371160
Abstract: A method for a cloud-computing system to communicatively couple with a remote terminal unit (RTU) that monitors and/or controls one or more operations a well device associated with a hydrocarbon well may include receiving, via at least one processor, a request from an asset attempting to communicatively couple with the cloud-computing system. The method may then include determining whether the asset is known and receiving one or more attributes regarding the asset when the asset is not known. After receiving the attributes, the method may include determining whether a profile that corresponds to the one or more attributes exists and sending configuration data to the asset based on the profile when the profile exists.

  • Patent number: 8852892
Abstract: A real-time system for determining the geographic movements of an individual or object by sampling particulates contained thereon. The system includes particle collection, sample preparations, and sample analysis using three primary modes of detecting certain particulates. The first mode involves the imaging of pollen, spores, or other biological material which are visible through a light microscope when properly stained or prepared. The second mode involves the use of real-time polymerase chain reaction to amplify and detect target nucleic acid sequences. The third mode involves the use of X-ray diffraction to identify mineral particles. The results from any mode, or any combination of modes, are analyzed by comparison to a reference database containing geographic information and the results are compiled by a controller for visual display.

  • Publication number: 20100228792
Abstract: A system for conducting persistent common weighted personnel background investigations. An investigator enters the subject's known applicable information that includes the subject's name, address, social security number, date of birth into the system. Once entered into the system, a report on background investigation findings is automatically generated and provided to the investigator. The report also contains a risk score and rating for the subject based on a common weighted set of evaluation criteria. Periodically afterward, a report of any new background investigation findings is automatically provided to the investigator along with the updated risk score. Reports continue to be generated periodically until the subject's name is removed from the system.

  • Publication number: 20080268808
Abstract: A software system used to track and locate mobile first responders such as law enforcement and firefighters. The system consists of software that loads on first responder cellular telephones and provides recurring position reports, personal emergency distress reports, and data files such as pictures, video, and audio that have been tagged with the cellular telephone's global positioning system (GPS) information. Information from the cellular telephone is sent to server software that represents the information on a map display viewed via the Internet. Users of the invention are able to communicate and collaborate with one another by selecting one or a group of users from the display and in turn sending text, email, and voice messages to one another.
