Publication number: 20080045342Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method that uses digital signature technology to authenticate the contents of one or more manifests located on a storage device. Each manifest contains a list of file records, where each record contains the name of a file stored on the storage device, and a signature value derived from the contents of the file. At boot time, the gaming machine first authenticates the contents of the manifest and then authenticates the contents of the files using the signature value stored in the manifest. Files are verified using the signature, as they are needed, during the boot up of the operating system and throughout normal operation. This method reduces the boot time of the gaming machine and eliminates the need to check digital signatures for each individual file or over the entire contents of a non-secure media. Similarly, a method of adding authentication ability to legacy software components without necessarily altering the legacy software components is disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2007Publication date: February 21, 2008Applicant: BALLY GAMING, INC.Inventors: Robert Crowder, Anthony Green

Publication number: 20070218998Abstract: The system allows a casino operator to manage groups of electronic gaming machines (EGMs). Managing new or existing collections (i.e., groups) of gaming devices reduces the effort required to download or configure large numbers of EGMs. For example, new software may be downloaded to groups of EGMs from a central location, and the EGMs may be configured from the central location. Accordingly, this operational efficiency reduces maintenance costs and minimizes EGM downtime due to maintenance or EGM set-up.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2006Publication date: September 20, 2007Inventors: Christopher Arbogast, Travis William Green, William Jones, Dale Shepherd, Ronald Cadima, Thomas Buckeyne, Anthony Green, Pravinkumar Patel, Robert Crowder, Joshua Larsen

Publication number: 20070218974Abstract: Methods for configuring celebration activity are disclosed. One embodiment provides a method for configuring celebration activity in association with at least one game. The method comprises defining one or more celebration activities comprising one or more features, and defining one or more triggering events. A particular celebration activity is associated with one or more particular triggering events, and upon the occurrence of a particular triggering event, the associated celebration activity is activated. A casino operable configuration component is provided and comprises an interface to configure the one or more features of one or more celebration activities.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2007Publication date: September 20, 2007Applicant: BALLY GAMING, INC.Inventors: Pravinkumar Patel, Anthony Green, Marvin Hein

Publication number: 20070111791Abstract: A system for configuring an EGM from a remote terminal thereby providing improvements in operational efficiency when configuring EGMs. For example, operational efficiencies are possible by providing direct access to configure an EGM without the technician traveling to the physical machine, which may be miles away. For local EGM's, there will be efficiencies obtained by the number of EGM's configured per hour/per technician. For extremely remote EGM's, there are additional efficiencies by the reduction of travel and lodging expenses for the technician. Additionally, remote configuration of an EGM reduces security overhead.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 11, 2006Publication date: May 17, 2007Applicant: Bally Gaming, Inc.Inventors: Christopher Arbogast, Travis Green, William Jones, Dale Shepherd, Ronald Cadima, Thomas Buckeyne, Anthony Green, Pravinkumar Patel, Robert Crowder, Joshua Larsen

Publication number: 20060247057Abstract: A logic interface engine 10 is used as an interface between a command driven device and a logical communication channel. The logic interface engine 10 includes a logic controller 20, a command router 30, a message processor 40, and a transport layer 50. The logic controller includes a plurality of object classes that correspond to components of the command-driven device. The command router receives the outbound commands sent by the object classes, and inbound commands sent from the command inQueues of the command router, which the command router duplicates and forwards, as required. The message processor(s) each includes a corresponding host, message builder, and message splitter. The transport layer receives the outbound messages sent by the message processors and sends outbound messages to the logical communication channel. Additionally, the transport layer sends inbound messages to the message processors.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 6, 2006Publication date: November 2, 2006Inventors: Anthony Green, Jordan Strub, Patel Pravinkumar

Patent number: 6520195Abstract: A portable shelter including a light-weight frame that is collapsible and supports a strong, light-weight covering or skin that is removably secured to the frame is disclosed. The frame may include a base which supports a plurality of articulated arms that are movable between an extended and a non-extended position by the provision of a tension wire. A main roof having an opening therethrough is positioned over the articulated arms and tension wire in the assembled position. The opening is sized to receive an umbrella unit therethrough. The umbrella unit is preferably movable between an open and closed position. When in the open position the umbrella unit forms part of a continuous roof of the shelter, and in the closed, or partially closed position, the umbrella unit extends upwardly such that the interior of the tent is fluidly connected to the outer atmosphere through the opening in the main roof.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2001Date of Patent: February 18, 2003Inventors: Robert O'Neal, Kenneth Hunibel, Anthony Green

Patent number: 6354952Abstract: A spring ring (41) of rectangular cross section has adjacent its ends arms which extend generally radially outwardly. The ring (41) is used to hold together two members (31, 40) in telescopic engagement by engaging in an internal groove (45) in one member and in an external groove (46) in the other. During assembly of the members the ring is located entirely in one of the grooves by a holding element (51) supported wholly by the arms on the ring. After assembly the holding element is withdrawn radially outwardly through a slot (47) in the external member.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2000Date of Patent: March 12, 2002Assignee: GKN Automotive AGInventors: Frederick William Boulton, Paul John Bibb, Anthony Green
