  • Publication number: 20170001753
Abstract: A handled packaging system having upper corner pieces and lower corner pieces. The lower corner piece has first and second opposed side panels, and an end panel connected to the first and second side panels. A first bottom flap connected to the first side panel and a second bottom flap connected to the second side panel are secured in overlapping and parallel relationship with a central bottom flap connected to the end panel. A handle connected to a handle plate extends through an opening in the end panel so that the handle is outside of the corner piece and the handle plate is inside of the corner piece. Protective panels may be provided and retained between the lower corner pieces 14 and the upper corner pieces.

  • Patent number: 8256621
Abstract: A new load tray especially well suited for use under loads on pallets is disclosed. The tray has a central load supporting base and as many as four flaps hingedly connected to the base. The tray includes flap supports for supporting the flaps and releasably maintaining them at a 90 to 135 degree angle relative to the base. The tray is designed so that it may be positioned on a pallet and have a load placed on it so that the flaps remain in an upstanding position so that when the load is wrapped, the flaps are held captive against the load.

  • Patent number: 5125566
Abstract: A dispensing container is disclosed. The container can be formed from a unitary prescored blank. The container comprises first and second main panels, four major side walls and at least one minor side wall which extends between to adjacent major side walls and cuts the corner that would otherwise be formed by the two major side walls. The minor side wall is constituted by a first, inner minor side wall panel connected to the first main panel and disconnected from the second main panel and a first, outer minor side wall panel connected to the second main panel and disconnected from the first main panel. A content dispensing device is associated with the minor wall so that it does not extend beyond the corner which would otherwise be formed by the two adjacent major side walls. The container can be shipped with the dispensing element in place. In applications involving liquid products, a liquid impervious liner is provided on the inside of the container.

  • Patent number: 4919326
Abstract: Several embodiments of an improved container are disclosed. In one embodiment, the container has a rear side wall hinge and set-up panels extending therefrom so that it can be readily assembled from an integral prescored blank. Other embodiments relate to containers with improved thermal retention properties. According to one embodiment, a container is provided with an integral polymeric layer or foil layer which includes channels or depressions for releasing steam from a hot food product carried thereon. In another embodiment, a double side wall construction is provided and with vents for passing warm air between inner and outer side walls to warm the outside surface of the inner side wall to reduce the rate at which heat is transferred from inside the container through the inner side wall.
