  • Patent number: 5057152
Abstract: This invention relates to surface cleaner/polish compositions comprising (i) a volatile liquid carrier selected from water, a monohydroxy alcohol having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms and mixtures thereof, and (ii) a crystalline aluminosilicate selected from Zeolite A, Zeolite X, Zeolite, Y, Zeolite P and mixtures thereof as an abrasive material, wherein said crystalline aluminosilicate has a particle size distribution sufficient to (a) provide enhanced wettability properties, (b) provide enhanced dispersion stability, (c) provide enhanced anti-fogging properties, (d) reduce or eliminate residual filming, and/or (e) reduce or eliminate dust during surface removal. This invention also relates to a process for preparation of the surface cleaner/polish compositions.

  • Patent number: 4855154
Abstract: Marine oils are deodorized by contact with an effective amount of crystalline siliceous molecular sieves having strongly organophilic properties and pore diameters of at least 5.5 Angstroms. The molecular sieves selectively adsorb odorous organic amines and other odor-producing molecular species, such as aldehydes and ketones, without alteration of the essential unsaturated fatty acid triglycerides.

Date of Patent: August 8, 1989
    Assignee: UOP
Inventors: Anthony J. Gioffre, Bonita K. Marcus
  • Patent number: 4826497
Abstract: Fibrous absorbent articles such as disposable diapers, catamenial devices, wound dressings, bandages, incontinence pads, wipes, underwear, shoe inserts and the like, contain an effective amount of crystalline, siliceous molecular sieve having pore diameters of at least about 5.5 Angstroms and a relatively low capacity for adsorbed water, and exhibit enhanced deodorizing properties with respect to the body fluids intended to be absorbed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 4, 1987
Date of Patent: May 2, 1989
    Assignee: UOP
Inventors: Bonita K. Marcus, Anthony J. Gioffre
  • Patent number: 4826676
Abstract: The anticariogenic activity of fluorine-containing compounds in oral compositions also containing zeolitic zinc ions is retained at advantages levels over protracted periods of time by adjusting the pH of the composition to the range of 9.5 to 11. The zeolite not only provides desired Zn.sup.++ ions to the formulation with minimal adverse affect on the active fluoride content but also is found to be an exceptionally good abrasive and/or polishing agent.

  • Patent number: 4818518
Abstract: Dentifrice compositions are provided having an effervescent and cleansing action. The dentifrice compositions are formed from an essentially anhydrous dentifrice base medium and an inorganic oxide material containing an adsorbed gas. Upon contact of the dentifrice composition with water, an effervescent action occurs as the gas is desorbed from the inorganic oxide material.

  • Patent number: 4795482
Abstract: Odors attributable to organic molecular species are eliminated to levels below their olfactory detection level threshold by contact of the odor-producing species with a crystalline siliceous molecular sieve material having at least about 90 percent of its tetrahedral oxide units as SiO.sub.2 tetrahedra, having pore apertures nominally at least 5.5 A in diameter, from which the original water of hydration has been substantially removed, having a capacity for adsorbed water of not greater than 10 weight percent when measured at 25.degree. C. at a water vapor pressure (p/p.sub.o) of 4.6 torr.
