    Abstract: A system includes a battery rack including a frame configured to support a battery tray, the frame including: an inlet fluidly coupled a fluid supply; and a set of columns fluidly coupled to the inlet, each column including perforations arranged on the column and facing an interior of the battery rack, and each column defining a channel configured to circulate fluid from the inlet to the perforations. The system also includes: a valve interposed between the fluid supply and the inlet; a sensor configured to generate a signal representing ambient condition proximal the battery rack; and a controller configured to trigger the valve to transition from a closed state to an open state in response to detecting a precursor condition to a fire event based on the signal.

    Abstract: A method for hazard detection and fire prevention during mobile refueling operation includes: accessing a geospatial position of a mobile refueling platform; detecting the geospatial position within a geospatial region as a first condition in a set of conditions, the geospatial region permitted for refueling operation; accessing a distance between the mobile refueling platform and a surface of an object proximal the mobile refueling platform; detecting the distance exceeding a distance threshold as a second condition in the set of conditions; accessing a concentration of a gas proximal the mobile refueling platform; detecting the concentration falling below a concentration threshold as a third condition in the first set of conditions; and in response to the set of conditions corresponding to a set of target conditions for mobile refueling operation, transmitting a control signal to open a fuel valve of the mobile refueling platform.

    Abstract: A system for mitigating fire within a battery storage container enclosing an energy storage system includes a sensor configured to detect a precursor condition indicative of a potential fire or explosion, a controller, and a set of extendable battery trays, each including a tray ejector and containing a set of battery cells. The controller detects a precursor condition in a battery tray via the sensor and ejects the battery tray to increase the distance between the battery tray and adjacent battery trays. The system can include a cooling channel in the battery tray configured to cool the set of battery cells, and/or a nozzle configured to direct fluid into the battery tray to suppress the precursor condition. In one variation, the system includes a door of the container configured to open, venting the interior of the container in response to detection of a precursor condition indicating a potential explosion.
