  • Patent number: 11413089
Abstract: A catheter device provides a balloon structure and a side-firing laser lumen within the balloon to create lesions in the pulmonary vein (PV) in the treatment of atrial fibrillation. Mounted on the balloon so as to contact the PV when the balloon is inflated are one or more electrodes which may be used in a measurement mode, a treatment mode, or both.

  • Publication number: 20190336646
Abstract: A triple-chambered container includes: a main container body with a first chamber which has an opening at its distal end; a main barrel formed and movable longitudinally within the first chamber, the main barrel defining therein a second chamber for receiving fluids, the main barrel further having an apertured stopper at its distal end; a second barrel formed within the main barrel, the second barrel defining a third chamber for receiving fluids, the second barrel being movable longitudinally within and with respect to the main barrel, the second barrel having a distal end which is engageable and disengageable with the apertured stopper; a shaft adapted to fit within the second barrel, the shaft being movable longitudinally within and with respect to the second barrel, the shaft having a distal end which is engageable and disengageable with an aperture in the second barrel; a device for controlling engaging and disengaging of the distal end of the shaft with the aperture of the second barrel.

  • Publication number: 20180369020
Abstract: A method of treating ophthalmic tissues of the body by the application of multiple laser pulses on each single spot intended to be treated while reducing heating of the ophthalmic tissues includes providing a source of pulsed laser energy movable in X and Y dimensions; determining the location and dimensions of the area of the ophthalmic tissue to be treated; determining an array of X rows by Y columns target spot positions within the area to be treated; then firing a single pulse of the source of laser energy at an initial target spot in the first of the X rows; firing a single second spot of laser energy at the next adjacent target spot along the first of the X rows and repeating the sequence until treatment is completed. A continuous wave (CW) laser energy source may also be utilized in practicing the method by moving the CW laser energy source in a determined pattern.
