Abstract: A hair brush head has a solid, relatively hard body (12), a cushion base (18) attached to one side of the body (12) with a portion spaced with respect to the body in order to form an air space (22) between itself and the body, and a plurality of vent openings (16, 20) in both the body (12) and the cushion base (18). Bristles (24) for brushing hair are attached directly to the cushion base (18).

Abstract: A hair straightening device 1 comprises pair of handles pivotally joined at a hinge 4. The upper handle 2 comprises an upper plate 5 that is selectively heated. A water reservoir 8 is removably mounted to the upper handle portion 2. As the handle portions 2, 3 are closed toward each other, a valve actuating member 11 on the lower handle portion 3 contacts a rubber bulb 12 located on the upper handle portion 2 compressing the bulb 12 to force air through a tube 13 and through an air input opening 14 on the reservoir 8, forcing open a one-way, flexible valve 15 the allows the air to enter the interior 16 of the reservoir 8. The pressure of the entering air displaces the water stored in the reservoir and causes it to exit the reservoir 8 at an exit port 17 into a channel 18 of the upper handle portion 2 and plate 5. The plate 5 may have one or more openings to release the steam that is produced by the water, as the water receives heat from the plate 5 being heated.

Abstract: A curling iron stand 1 comprises a generally cylindrical tube 2 made of insulated material, an open receiving end 3 adapted to receive a cylindrical barrel of a curling iron, and a pair of pivotably mounted legs 4, 5. The legs 4, 5 pivot between a standing position in which they form a tripod, in cooperation with the tube 2, and a folded position in which the legs 4, 5 are pivoted into parallel alignment with a longitudinal axis of the tube 2. In the folded position, a tab 6, 7 attached to a pivot section 8, 9 of each leg swings into place to lock a curling iron that is held in the tube 2 so that it cannot slide out, to prevent accidental release of the curling iron from the tube. In the standing position, the stand 1 can rest on a table or countertop and be used to place a curling iron into it and remove it conveniently and safely.

Abstract: A styling iron 1 comprises a first section 2, a second section 3 and a third section 4. The first section 1 comprises a handle end 5 and a distal end 6 that includes a heated plate 7 having a hair contact surface 8 of a flat configuration. The second section 3 comprises a proximal end 9 and a distal end 10 that includes a heated plate 11 having two hair contact surfaces 12 and 13, each facing opposite directions. The first of these hair contact surfaces 12 is of a flat configuration. The second of these hair contact surfaces 13 is of a concave configuration. The third section 4 comprises a handle end 14 and a distal end 15 that includes a heated plate 16 having a hair contact surface 17 of a convex configuration. A conventional, electrically powered heat element (not shown) of the type generally known in the art for flat irons and hair styling irons is located internally in each of the first section 2, the second section 3 and the third section 4.
