  • Publication number: 20240057667
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an assembly for an aerosol provision device for heating aerosol-generating material to volatilize at least one component of the aerosol-generating material. The assembly can include a heating zone for receiving aerosol-generating material to be heated, a structure, and at least one continuous electrically conductive path supported by the structure and configured to perform a first function of detecting temperature of the heating zone on the basis of an electrical resistance of the at least one path and/or a second function of heating the heating zone by resistance heating. The at least one path extends along at least two distinct portions of the structure. The at least one path can include a multiplicity of turns within each of the at least two distinct portions of the structure. The at least two distinct portions of the structure are offset from each other by a gap which is substantially free of the at least one path.

  • Patent number: 9126040
Abstract: An implantable sound pickup system. The system comprises an intracochlear acoustic sensor implantable in a recipient's cochlea comprising: piezoelectric element configured to detect pressure waves in the perilymph of the cochlea when the acoustic sensor is at least partially implanted in the cochlea, and to produce electrical signals corresponding to the detected pressure waves.

  • Patent number: 8412342
Abstract: An implantable sound pickup system. The system comprises an intracochlear acoustic sensor implantable in a recipient's cochlea comprising: an elongate core conductor, and a piezoelectric element disposed on the surface of the core conductor configured to detect pressure waves in the perilymph of the cochlea when the acoustic sensor is at least partially implanted in the cochlea, and to produce electrical signals corresponding to the detected pressure waves.

  • Patent number: 7580754
Abstract: An acoustic sensor, suitable for use in a totally implanted hearing prosthesis, uses an elongate member and piezoelectric sensor to detect acoustic signals when the sensor is implanted so as to be in fluid communication with the perilymph. The sensor may be applied in systems which are not totally implanted.

  • Publication number: 20070180008
Abstract: A processor having a unidirectional rotator configured to shift or rotate data in one direction is disclosed. The processor also includes a control unit having logic configured to modify a shift value specified by a registered-based shift, or rotate, instruction in an opposite direction, the modified shift value being usable by the rotator to shift, or rotate, the data in the one direction, and thereby, generate the same result as if the data in the rotator had otherwise been shifted, or rotated, in the opposite direction by the shift value originally specified by the registered-based instruction. The control unit is further configured to bypass the logic and provide to the rotator a shift value specified by a register-based instruction to shift, or rotate, the data in the one direction.
