Abstract: A tuned mass damper (TMD) system in combination with a floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) platform includes a barge type FOWT platform having a hull configured to have a wind turbine tower mounted thereon. A TMD system is mounted in the hull and has a first TMD configured to operate at a first frequency, and a second TMD configured to operate at a second frequency different than the first frequency.

Abstract: A multi-use projectile launching apparatus that includes a single piece body and attached elastic propulsion band to propel an object through a portion of the single piece body. The single piece body consists of a handle for supporting the apparatus, a projectile tube through which the propelled object travels, a funnel for receiving the propelled object and passing it to the projectile tube, and one or more attachment nodes for connecting an elastic propulsion band to the single piece body. Together these components form a device capable of launching several kinds of projectile objects at high speed by propelling the projectile object with elastic force.

Abstract: An inspection device for use in scanning the interior of a pipe at a remote location is accurately centered within the pipe at the required location by two spiders. Each spider has three sickle-shaped arms which can be extended and retracted between operative and inoperative positions. The six spider arms are interconnected by a crank mechanism which ensures that all the arms move in unison between their limit positions.
