  • Patent number: 7988779
Abstract: The present invention relates to soft surface coatings and absorbent articles comprising composite materials that are functionalized nanoparticles and in particular, metal-loaded nanoclays. In one embodiment, the metal is silver and the nanoparticle comprises a nanoclay. Silver ion is reduced to its neutral metal state (Ag0) and loaded onto the nanoclay.

    Assignee: McNeil-PPC, Inc.
Inventors: Anthony L. Disalvo, Carolyn J. Mordas
  • Publication number: 20040267226
Abstract: An absorbent article including an absorbent structure is disclosed. The absorbent structure has an absorbent core and a plurality of discrete entities deposited on the absorbent core, wherein the combination of absorbent core and discrete entities form a body facing surface of the absorbent article.

  • Publication number: 20040266302
Abstract: A disposable absorbent article having a member that contains an encapsulated essential oil. The encapsulated essential oil can be in many forms, such as, a film, fiber, filament, particle, coating or mixtures thereof. Regardless of the composition, upon mechanical cracking or breaking of the encapsulation or upon exposure to liquid, fragrance and the related antimicrobial properties contained therein are released.

  • Patent number: 4605711
Abstract: Isocyanate-reactive prepolymers containing at least one terminal epoxide group with an associated secondary hydroxy group and grafted thereto a polymeric moiety derived from polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer are disclosed. When reacted with isocyanate, these prepolymers form thermoset compositions which comprise oxazolidone groups in the backbone that are separated by ester linkages, urethane linkages in side chains attached to the backbone, and polymeric moieties derived from one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomer grafted to the polymer backbone.

  • Patent number: 4557860
Abstract: Adhesive compositions are disclosed which comprise: (a) an epoxy resin; (b) a soluble polyimide resin; and (c) a monoepoxy diluent. Such compositions are curable by using conventional epoxy curing agent(s). If desired, conductive adhesives of this type can be formed by blending the composition with a conductive filler component.

  • Patent number: 4424316
Abstract: Reaction of a diepoxide with a mono-, or, preferably, dicarboxylic acid yields a prepolymer having both hydroxy and epoxy groups. This prepolymer, when reacted with a polyisocyanate, yields a poly(oxazolidone/urethane) thermoset composition which is substantially free of isocyanurate linkages. The thermoset contains oxazolidone linkages in its backbone which are separated from one another by ester linkages. Urethane linkages are present in side chains attached to the polymer backbone of the thermoset.

  • Patent number: 4386191
Abstract: Reaction of a polyol, acid anhydride and diepoxide, preferably in a single step, yields a prepolymer composition containing a prepolymer containing terminal epoxy and non-terminal, secondary hydroxy groups. Reaction of this prepolymer with a polyisocyanate yields a poly(oxazolidone/urethane) thermoset composition which is essentially free of isocyanurate linkages. The thermoset contains oxazolidone linkages in the backbone of its recurring unit and urethane linkages which are present in a side chain of the unit.
