  • Publication number: 20230385809
Abstract: A household composting device having housing and composting regions for receiving compostable waste material, the device further having a bucket positioned within the housing, a grinding assembly, and a condenser assembly, configured to: facilitate an outlet air flow leaving the composting region via an air outlet; expose the outlet air outlet to a cooler air flow to cause the air flow to condense into a condensate and an inlet airflow; capture the condensate; and redirect the inlet airflow into the composting region. In addition, there is a system and method for the creation of a waste reduction token, based on waste reduction by the device, the method including receiving, from the waste reduction device, a waste reduction data; validating, by a validator, the waste reduction data; and calculating a number of waste reduction tokens, based on the validated waste reduction data.

  • Patent number: 7996185
Abstract: A machine data acquisition system is disclosed. The data acquisition system may include a sensor disposed on a machine and configured to produce a signal indicative of an operational parameter of the machine. The system may also include a data processor and controller configured to convert the signal into a plurality of parameter data points. The system may further include a primary data circular buffer disposed on the machine and configured to store the plurality of parameter data points. Additionally, a variable resolution circular buffer may be disposed on the machine and configured to store a compressed parameter data point calculated from the plurality of parameter data points.

  • Publication number: 20100281597
Abstract: A partial garment lift/quick-access system for installation in an upper body garment for wearers who have a need for immediate and unobstructed access to the waist/belt line to retrieve essential items. The quick-access system allows the wearer to immediately expose an item at the waist/belt line, for complete and unobstructed access by pulling a simple cord at the chest pocket. This act produces a curtain-like affect at the bottom hem of the garment; assisting the wearer to make rapid hand-to-item contact while keeping the hem of the garment suspended for the duration of the required activity. The pull cord may be installed on one or both sides of the shirt system to allow for the most efficient access by the wearer. The quick-access system can be installed in various types of upper body garments such as, but not limited to, short or long sleeved shirts, vests, pullovers, and jackets.

  • Publication number: 20090195344
Abstract: The embodiments of the present invention provide a non-contact data connection that is adaptable to transmit data across an air gap. The data connection includes a first substrate (706) and a loosely coupled wide band pulse transformer for transmitting data over an air gap (820) separating a primary-winding (704) from a secondary winding (714) of the transformer. The primary winding of the transformer includes at least two planar windings formed in parallel planes upon and/or within the first substrate for facilitating a neutralization of transmission line resonances due to distributed capacitance and inductance of the planar windings.

  • Patent number: 7488573
Abstract: A method for evaluating in vivo a test substance for angiogenesis modulation activity, including the steps of providing a rodent pup having a pupillary membrane system in a first eye, injecting transcorneally proximate to the pupillary membrane a test substance; and examining the pupillary membrane to determine whether new vascular tissue has grown. The method can also evaluate the ability of a test substance to regress existing vascular tissue, or to inhibit or prevent new vascular tissue, by injecting transcorneally a first substance that induces new vascular tissue growth, then injecting a test substance, and examining the pupillary membrane to determine whether new vascular tissue has grown. The assay can also be used to evaluate the effect of a small molecule on a property of a capillary vessel, and to evaluate a test substance on a problematic vascular condition.

  • Patent number: 4943126
Abstract: The holographic manufacture of Compact Discs has three stages namely mastering, production of the sub-master holograms and replication. In the production stage, a holographic plate, spacer and master transparency are positioned against a prism, and then illuminated with split beams from a laser in order to record a hologram, at the plate, of the master transparency. The resultant hologram of the plate is then mass replicated on polycarbonate or photochromic discs to produce compact Discs compatible to conventional Compact Disc players.
