  • Publication number: 20040218462
Abstract: Concrete is mixed and delivered on-site with slump continuously monitored on a real-time basis. A vehicle 10 having a compartment 11 holding blended aggregate and sand and a compartment 12 holding cement powder. An auger 13 carries the aggregate and sand to a mixer 14 coupled to the rear of the vehicle 10. As the aggregate and sand passes below the compartment 12 cement powder is dispensed by a paddle wheel dispenser 15 where the last stages of the auger 13 pre-coats the aggregate and sand with cement powder before delivering it into the mixer 14 where water is added. A slump indicator on a display shows departure of slump from a preset value so that customer may see that slump is being monitored and maintained on a dynamic basis. Merchant facilities are provided so that the concrete may be paid for in advance. The slump may be monitored on a tipping or non-tipping vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6698993
Abstract: A transporter is adapted to tip by using bilateral rams on opposite sides of a main compartment in the form of an open topped bin. The main bin is V-shaped in profile and when the trailer is tipped a conveyor underneath the bin raises an ingredient flowing from the bin. The bin is divided by flow-promoting dividers which are asymmetric in profile, each divider has a front face defined by an included angle “A” of about 34° and a rear face defined by an included angle “B” of about 75°, measured from the horizontal when the bin is in a horizontal transport position. Faces of adjacent dividers converge to a flow through passage that an ingredient flows along the V-sides of the bin and the faces directly through the flow through passages.

  • Publication number: 20030082033
Abstract: A transporter 10 has a prime mover 11 and a trailer 12, the trailer 12 is adapted to tip by using bilateral rams 13 on opposite sides of a main compartment in the form of an open topped bin 14. The rams are inclined toward the front of the transporter. The main bin 14 is V-shaped in profile and when the trailer 12 is tipped a conveyor underneath the bin 14 raises an ingredient flowing from the bin onto the conveyor so that it may be discharged at 15. The bin 14 holding aggregate is positioned between a cement powder tank 16 at the rear and a water tank 17 at the front. Water is pumped to the discharge 15, a screw dispenser 18 is used to discharge cement powder onto aggregate carried by the conveyor. The bin 14 is divided by flow-promoting dividers 19 which are asymmetric in profile, each divider has a front face 20 defined by an included angle “A” of about 34° and a rear face 21 defined by an included angle “B” of about 75°.

  • Patent number: 5813151
Abstract: An excavator assembly 10 including an excavator body having a pair of tracks 12 an 13, a cab 14, an articulated boom 15 and a trenching or cutting attachment 16 mounted at the end of the boom 15. The trenching or cutting attachment comprises a blade 17 mounted to a box-like drive mounting 18 with the box-like mounting 18 having on an opposite side thereof an excavator mounting 19 element so that the attachment can be detached from the excavator. A swivel arrangement is provided for swivelling the blade 17. The excavator mounting is a standard hoe bucket fitting.
