Patent number: 12251896Abstract: Composite laminates fabricated from one or more respective laminae of composite material (e.g., fiber-reinforced polymers) may be pre-formed and fully cured, yet configured to be selectively conformable to a desired radius of curvature. To repair a damaged composite structure, a plurality of such composite laminates may be bonded together to form a repair part that may be bolted to or otherwise secured to the damaged composite structure, thereby repairing the structure using repair parts that may match the parent material of the damaged composite structure. Methods of forming said repair parts from a plurality of such composite laminates may provide advantages in costs and lead time, over conventional techniques. Kits may include a plurality of such pre-formed and cured composite laminates that may be stacked and combined together in a plurality of different arrangements to create a customizable repair part for a given damaged composite structure.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2022Date of Patent: March 18, 2025Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Remmelt Andrew Staal, Gregory Jonathon Smith, Arne Kenneth Lewis, Blake Anthony Bertrand

Patent number: 12254409Abstract: An inference system performs inference, such as object recognition, based on sensory inputs generated by sensors and control information associated with the sensory inputs. The sensory inputs describe one or more features of the objects. The control information describes movement of the sensors or known locations of the sensors relative to a reference point. For a particular object, an inference system learns a set of object-location representations of the object. An object-location representation is a unique characterization of an object-centric location relative to the particular object. The inference system also learns a set of feature-location representations associated with the object-location representation that indicate presence of features at the corresponding object-location pair.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2023Date of Patent: March 18, 2025Assignee: Numenta, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey C. Hawkins, Marcus Anthony Lewis

Patent number: 12247245Abstract: Assays for compounds having a desired biological activity against one but not both of a pair of microorganism species utilize separately detectable labels. The first and second microorganisms are different from each other, the first microorganisms exhibit a first detectable label, the second microorganisms exhibit a second detectable label different from the first detectable label, and neither of the labels interferes with detection of the other label. In various embodiments, the first and second microorganisms are incubated with a candidate compound or a producer thereof. The different labels permit isolation of microorganisms exhibiting one of the labels but not the other, indicating the desired activity, and the compound responsible for this differential response is isolated.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2019Date of Patent: March 11, 2025Assignee: Northeastern UniversityInventors: Kim Lewis, Anthony D'Onofrio, Thomas Curtis, Charlotte Berkes

Publication number: 20250071128Abstract: Aspects of the present application comprise an edge-based polymorphic network and associated agentless security solutions. Present systems and methods may effectively shapeshift the network through network topology management, node templates, link templates, and network packet manipulation. Using agentless techniques, the network may be reshaped when attacks are detected in a manner that impacts only the attacker, and an agentless color theory security solution may be used to dynamically protect network traffic.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2024Publication date: February 27, 2025Applicant: CenturyLink Intellectual Property LLCInventors: Thomas Charles Barnett, JR., Ronald Anthony Lewis

Publication number: 20240310597Abstract: A fiber optic cable assembly includes a fiber optic cable and a plurality of distribution housings along its length. The distribution housings include a tubular portion with a first passageway that receives optical fibers of the fiber optic cable and a branch portion with a second passageway. The second passageway intersects the first passageway and receives a subset of optical fibers that define tap cables branching away from the main fiber optic cable. The distribution housing includes one or more bend limiters adjacent the intersection between the passageways to limit bending of the tap cables. The distribution housings may include movement restrictors to limit movement of the distribution housings relative to the fiber optic cable. An equipment rack having such a fiber optic cable assembly is disclosed. A method of using the fiber optic cable assembly in an equipment rack to provide a plug-and-play capability is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 29, 2024Publication date: September 19, 2024Inventors: Edward Joseph Carroll, Terry Lee Cooke, Michael Todd Faulkner, Shane Blackburn Harmon, Christopher Shawn Houser, Jason Anthony Lewis, Lars Kristian Nielsen

Patent number: 12093843Abstract: Embodiments relate to performing inference, such as object recognition, based on sensory inputs received from sensors and location information associated with the sensory inputs. The sensory inputs describe one or more features of the objects. The location information describes known or potential locations of the sensors generating the sensory inputs. An inference system learns representations of objects by characterizing a plurality of feature-location representations of the objects, and then performs inference by identifying or updating candidate objects consistent with feature-location representations observed from the sensory input data and location information. In one instance, the inference system learns representations of objects for each sensor. The set of candidate objects for each sensor is updated to those consistent with candidate objects for other sensors, as well as the observed feature-location representations for the sensor.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2021Date of Patent: September 17, 2024Assignee: Numenta, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey C.
