    Abstract: An electrophotographic imaging member comprising a support substrate having a two layered electrically conductive ground plane layer comprising a layer comprising zirconium over a layer comprising titanium, a hole blocking layer, an adhesive layer comprising a polymer blend comprising a carbazole polymer and a film forming thermoplastic resin selected from the group consisting of copolyester, polyarylate and polyurethane in contiguous contact with the hole blocking layer, a charge generation layer comprising perylene or a phthalocyanine pigment particles dispersed in a polycarbonate film forming binder in contiguous contact with the adhesive layer, and a hole transport layer, the hole transport layer being substantially non-absorbing in the spectral region at which the charge generation layer generates and injects photogenerated holes but being capable of supporting the injection of photogenerated holes from the charge generation layer and transporting the holes through the charge transport layer.

    Abstract: A flexible electrophotographic imaging member is disclosed which comprises a flexible substrate having an electrically conductive surface, a hole blocking layer comprising an aminosilane reaction product, an adhesive layer having a thickness between about 200 angstroms and about 900 angstroms consisting essentially of at least one copolyester resin having the following formula: ##STR1## wherein the diacid is selected from the group consisting of terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, and mixtures thereof, the diol comprises ethylene glycol, the mole ratio of diacid to diol is 1:1, n is a number between about 175 and about 350 and the T.sub.g of the copolyester resin is between about 50.degree. C. to about 80.degree. C.

    Abstract: A process for the preparation of pigments of high purity which comprises reacting in the presence of an organic solvent an appropriate impure pigment with an organic acid of the formula R-X, or comprises reacting an appropriate impure pigment with an organic acid of the formula R-X, and subsequently adding an organic solvent to the resulting organic mixture, adding a precipitating agent to the resulting solution mixture, followed by separation of the desired pure pigment from the reaction mixture, wherein R is an alkyl group, containing from about 4 carbon atoms to about 22 carbon atoms, or an aryl group containing from about 6 carbon atoms to about 24 carbon atoms, and X is a group capable of yielding anions.

    Abstract: An imaging member which is comprised of a substrate, an injecting contact, or hole injecting electrode overlaying the substrate, a charge transport layer comprised of an electrically inactive organic resin having dispersed therein an electrically active material, a combination of which is substantially non-absorbing to visible electromagnetic radiation but allows the injection of photogenerated holes from a charge generator layer in contact with the injecting contact and electrically induces holes from the layer of injecting material, a layer of charge generator material on and in operative connection with the charged transport layer and finally a layer of insulating organic resin overlaying the layer of charge generating material. The hole injecting electrode includes materials such as trigonal selenium, selenium dioxide, arsenic, tellurium, and alloys of selenium such as arsenic-selenium-tellurium.
