  • Patent number: 5397267
Abstract: A one-piece adjustable air discharge register is of a generally clamshell-type of construction having a number of air-directing vanes formed integrally therein with the discharge register being adapted for pivotal mounting in an air discharge opening for adjustment of the flow of discharge air in a first adjustment direction. The discharge register also has a number of pivotally movable air-directing louvers formed integrally therein for adjustment of discharge airflow in a second adjustment direction transverse to, and independent of, the first adjustment direction. The one-piece discharge register includes an integral frame portion for supporting the movable louvers, with a number of sets of living hinges being integrally formed with the frame portion, the fixed vanes, and the movable louvers, in order to allow the register to be molded as a single, one-piece device and assembled in a simple one-step operation.

  • Patent number: 5165830
Abstract: Arrangements are disclosed for an automatic mobile and components thereof together with a new mass transit system wherein cost reductions, manufacturing simplicity and new methods of travel are obtained primarily through the use of Integrated Sub Systems, Symmetry, Remanufacturability, Transfusion Coatings, and an Automatic Transport Mode thereby resulting in elimination of large automotive assembly plants and the haulaway delivery inductry with subsequent opening-up of competition which will allow new automotive industries to form with very minimal ini-investments.

  • Patent number: 4539932
Abstract: A robot painting system for electrostatically painting an automobile body that includes a paint module adapted to maintain the automobile body in a stationary position relative to at least two painting robots, each of which carries a rotary bell-type atomizing device and provides programmed movement thereof about five control axes at a speed which prevents the cone-shaped pattern of atomized paint particles from being distorted due to any gyroscopic effect developed by the atomizing device as it is moved about the control axes.
