  • Publication number: 20220195335
Abstract: The invention provides a surfactant system, for use in household detergent compositions, which is a mixture of: (i) at least one sulfonate-functionalized alkyl polyglycoside of general formula (I): R—O-(G)n-(D) ??(I) in which: p0 R represents a straight or branched chain monovalent hydrocarbyl radical having from 6 to 22 carbon atoms; G represents a residue of a reducing saccharide, connected to R—O by means of an ethereal O-glycosidic bond; n represents a number from 1 to 10; and D represents a —CH2CH(OH)CH2—SO3M group connected to an oxygen atom of G, where M is selected from H or a monovalent cation selected from Na, K, or NH4; and (ii) at least one ethoxylated fatty acid sorbitan ester of general formula (II): Sorb-(EOn1R1)(EOn2R2)(EOn3R3)(EOn4R4) ??(II) in which: Sorb represents a residue obtained by removing four hydroxyl H atoms from sorbitan; EO represents an ethyleneoxy group; R1, R2, R3 and R4are each independently selected from H or a —C(O)R5 group in which R5 is selected from straight o

  • Patent number: 9150993
Abstract: The invention provides a method of laundering fabric which uses a pourable liquid detergent composition comprising 10-40% wt of surfactant, essentially consisting of nonionic and/or anionic surfactant (typically less than 90% wt LAS and at least 10% wt of nonionic surfactant) in which 10-40% wt of surfactant preferably passes the Calcium Tolerance Test described in the patent. The composition comprises no more than 15% wt of soap, (present as a minority in wt % terms of the total surfactant). In the method, the composition is diluted by a factor of greater than 500 to obtain a wash liquor which comprises 0.8-0.05 g/l of surfactant, and, the wash liquor is contacted with fabrics.

  • Patent number: 7959685
Abstract: The present invention provides a laundry detergent composition, a process for making said composition, the use of the composition in a laundry detergent and a method for treating fabric with the composition. Said laundry detergent compositions comprise a polyaspartate derivative modified with at least two hydrophilic groups, one of which is a charged hydrophilic group, surfactant and optionally other ingredients.
