  • Patent number: 8959624
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for monitoring executable software applications on a computer network. Executable software applications and data files may be monitored by a risk monitoring system. The executable software application and data files may attempt to access a computer network and/or a computing device and a monitoring process may identify risks associated with the executable software application and/or data file. A suspicious characteristic of the executable software application may be identified during the monitoring process. The suspicious characteristic may be malware and may be neutralized before it causes damage to the computer network and/or computing device.

  • Patent number: 8458100
Abstract: A computer method for matching civilian employers with candidates having prior military experience can include identifying an employer profile whose desired level of military service matches a level of military service of a candidate profile. The employer profile can be stored in a memory if the desired level military service for the employer profile matches the level of military service for the candidate profile. Remaining military fields in the employer profile stored in the memory can be compared against remaining military fields in the candidate profile. Weight values can be assigned to military fields of the candidate profile based on a degree of matching between the military fields of the employer profile and the candidate profile. The weight values can correspond to a preferred status and a non-preferred status for a respective field desired by an employer.

  • Publication number: 20050183562
Abstract: A channel cutting tool may include an arbor that connects to a rotating spindle of a machining tool or a similar spinning part of a machining tool. Two slot cutting blades may be fixedly mounted to the arbor. An inner washer may be fixedly mounted on the arbor between the cutting blades and establish the blade spacing. An outer washer may be rotationally mounted to the inner washer with a smaller thickness to facilitate rotation relative to the two cutting blades. The arbor rotates about a longitudinal rotation axis, which may also the rotation axis for the cutting blades, the inner washer, and the outer washer. The outer washer functions as a depth-limiting safeguard for the channel cutting tool.

  • Publication number: 20050076765
Abstract: The present invention involves a stringed musical instrument, such as a guitar or the like, with a body, a head attached to the body, a string having a first end attached to the body and a second end, and a tuning machine mounted within the head and attached to the second end of the string. The tuning machine includes a recessed actuation element that may be a hexagonally shaped recess, a straight screw driver head shaped slot, or a Phillips head shaped slot. The tuning machine also includes reduction gearing which may advantageously have a ratio of at least 15:1, possibly at least 30:1. The tuning machine comprises a tuning peg adapted to receive a string of a musical instrument and reduction gearing actuable through an access aperture in the body of the tuning peg.
