  • Patent number: 11310192
Abstract: A monitoring device is described. The monitoring device includes a processor. The monitoring device also includes memory in electronic communication with the processor. The monitoring device further includes instructions stored in the memory. The instructions are executable to intercept a lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) search request sent to an LDAP search handler of a security subsystem from a calling device. The LDAP search request includes a query string containing data for a second protocol. The instructions are also executable to generate response data for the second protocol to substitute for a response by the LDAP search handler. The instructions are further executable to send an LDAP search result to the calling device, the LDAP search result comprising the response data for the second protocol.

  • Patent number: 9807104
Abstract: An authenticating device configured for network authentication is described. The authenticating device includes a processor. The authenticating device also includes memory in electronic communication with the processor. The authenticating device further includes instructions stored in the memory. The instructions are executable to intercept an authentication request sent to an authentication application program interface (API). The instructions are also executable to send the authentication request to a central server to identify malicious activity patterns based on authentication activity of a plurality of authenticating devices in a network environment. The instructions are further executable to determine whether to block an invocation of the authentication API based on blocking rules received from the central server.

  • Patent number: 8782740
Abstract: A method for detecting unauthorized or unsecured access points is disclosed. At least one node of a computer network having a wireless network interface is identified. At least one of the identified nodes is requested to scan for detectable wireless access points. A listing of identified wireless access points is utilizing information gathered through at least one of the scans. An inventory of authorized wireless access points is formulated. The listing is compared to the inventory to identify unauthorized wireless access points. Also, security information may be gathered and analyzed for identified wireless access points.
