Patent number: 12203371Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for mining lunar and Martian polar permafrost to extract gas propellants. The method can comprise identifying a plurality of near-polar landing sites in craters in which the surface comprises permafrost in perpetual darkness, wherein such landing sites have perpetual sunlight available at altitudes of about 100 to 200 m. A mining outpost can be established in at least one of the sites and a high altitude solar array deployed at the landing site using a lightweight mast tall enough to generate near continuous power for the outpost. Systems and apparatus are disclosed for mining the permafrost at the landing sites using radiant gas dynamic mining procedures. The systems can comprise a rover vehicle with an integrated large area dome for cryotrapping gases released from the surface and multi-wavelength radiant heating systems to provide adjustable heating as a function of depth.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2023Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: Trans Astronautica CorporationInventors: Joel C. Sercel, Anthony Price Longman, James G. Small

Publication number: 20200107540Abstract: A deer call apparatus that has a cylindrical sound chamber end and a mouthpiece end that is in communication with the sound chamber. A reed is positioned inside the sound chamber and vibrates when air is blown into the mouthpiece. The reed is positioned over a grove that is cut or molded into a sound board that allows air to flow under the reed and cause the vibrations that create the sound. The mouth piece end of the sound chamber has small aperture or restricted sized hole that will only allow a certain amount of air into the call to keep the reed from locking up or creating an unwanted sound from the reed and sound board. The exit end of the call has an aperture the same size as the mouthpiece end to control the sound emitted from the call.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2019Publication date: April 9, 2020Inventor: John Anthony Price

Patent number: 10449589Abstract: A method of forming circumferential grooves in pipe elements using opposed rollers to cold work the pipe elements determines the diameter of the groove while the pipe element is rotated between the rollers. A device for executing the method uses the instantaneous determinations of the groove depth in a feed-back loop to control the operation of the device and halt groove formation when the groove depth is within a specified tolerance.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2016Date of Patent: October 22, 2019Assignee: Victaulic CompanyInventors: Anthony Price, Daniel B. Vicario, II, Matthew J. Puzio, Douglas R. Dole

Patent number: 10350488Abstract: A virtual reality (VR) Proximity Mat with Directional Locators has been provided configured and designed to establish a safety zone, the stability and the location of a person using VR and remote-control devices including video games by employing a tactilely detectable centering home/center locator in the middle and a tactilely detectable directional locator positioned away from the home/center locator. Imbedded sensors with vibration, sound and LED lighting are optionally located around the perimeter along with different textures, patterns and mat shape helping to detect, determine and establish a person's exact location on the mat when they are using the VR Proximity Mat with Directional Locators while going bare footed or wearing socks, or with a variety of shoes.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2017Date of Patent: July 16, 2019Inventor: Thomas Anthony Price, Jr.

Publication number: 20160126734Abstract: The amount of energy generation and energy storage equipment connected to centralised grids by end users is expected to increase in the future. Electricity transformers/substations, have only limited capacity and are not designed for reverse energy flow due to electricity generation by an end user. The rising trend for home generation may cause damage to such transformers/substations, and may prove very costly to replace. The present invention relates generally to a microgrid control apparatus, method and system for controlling energy flow within a microgrid such that reverse flow through a transformer/substation is minimised.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2014Publication date: May 5, 2016Applicant: Swanbarton LimitedInventors: Anthony Price, Clive Tomlinson, Jill Cainey
