  • Publication number: 20230399946
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for mining lunar and Martian polar permafrost to extract gas propellants. The method can comprise identifying a plurality of near-polar landing sites in craters in which the surface comprises permafrost in perpetual darkness, wherein such landing sites have perpetual sunlight available at altitudes of about 100 to 200 m. A mining outpost can be established in at least one of the sites and a high altitude solar array deployed at the landing site using a lightweight mast tall enough to generate near continuous power for the outpost. Systems and apparatus are disclosed for mining the permafrost at the landing sites using radiant gas dynamic mining procedures. • Publication number: 20200107540
Abstract: A deer call apparatus that has a cylindrical sound chamber end and a mouthpiece end that is in communication with the sound chamber. A reed is positioned inside the sound chamber and vibrates when air is blown into the mouthpiece. The reed is positioned over a grove that is cut or molded into a sound board that allows air to flow under the reed and cause the vibrations that create the sound. The mouth piece end of the sound chamber has small aperture or restricted sized hole that will only allow a certain amount of air into the call to keep the reed from locking up or creating an unwanted sound from the reed and sound board. The exit end of the call has an aperture the same size as the mouthpiece end to control the sound emitted from the call.

  • Publication number: 20160126734
Abstract: The amount of energy generation and energy storage equipment connected to centralised grids by end users is expected to increase in the future. Electricity transformers/substations, have only limited capacity and are not designed for reverse energy flow due to electricity generation by an end user. The rising trend for home generation may cause damage to such transformers/substations, and may prove very costly to replace. The present invention relates generally to a microgrid control apparatus, method and system for controlling energy flow within a microgrid such that reverse flow through a transformer/substation is minimised.
