  • Publication number: 20220410551
Abstract: Tear and heat resistant foams used in packaging, protective packaging bags and related methods are provided. The tear and heat resistant foam can include a nonwoven substrate, a polyethylene film, and a base layer of polyethylene foam joined together by applying at least one of heat or heat and pressure to the top nonwoven substrate, the polyethylene film and the polyethylene foam to heat the first surface of the top nonwoven substrate to a temperature that is above the melting point of polyethylene film but below the melting point of top nonwoven substrate. The temperature of the polyethylene film rises causing the polyethylene film to melt and bind the top nonwoven substrate to the polyethylene foam to form the heat and tear resistant packaging foam.

  • Patent number: 6114025
Abstract: A polymeric composition to be used in producing foam. The polymeric composition comprises a linear low density polyethylene and a resiliency modifier resin. The linear low density polyethylene is in the amount of from about 1 to about 90 weight percent of the polymeric composition. The linear low density polyethylene has a z-average molecular weight, M.sub.z, greater than about 700,000. The resiliency modifier resin is in the amount of from 10 to about 99 weight percent of the polymeric composition. The resiliency modifier resin can be made of a low density polyethylene. Reclaimed material may comprise a portion of the linear low density polyethylene.

  • Patent number: 5816980
Abstract: A playground assembly (10) includes a playhouse structure (11) having a plurality of walls (16, 17, 18, 19) and a tower structure (12) having a plurality of walls (29, 30, 31, 32). A tunnel member (15) may be selectively attached between appropriately configured playhouse walls (16, 17) and appropriately configured tower walls (29, 30, 31) by positioning its lug assemblies (91) through notches (92) formed in a selected window (20, 23, 33, 35, 36) and rotating the tunnel member (15) so that the notches (92) traverse ramped surfaces (95) and engage a stop surface (96). Playground assembly (10) also includes a slide (14) which may be selectively attached to appropriately configured playhouse and tower walls (19, 29, 31). To that end, windows (26, 34, 37) in the walls (19, 29, 31) are provided with lugs (109, 110) and the slide (14) is provided with channels (102, 103) which snap over the lugs (109, 110) to attach the slide (14) selectively to one of the walls (19, 29, 31).

  • Patent number: 4715244
Abstract: A self-scavenging gear box lubrication system is disclosed and includes a gear box housing having at least one gear chamber providing relatively close confirmation with meshing gears rotatably mounted in the chamber. Lubricating fluid is delivered to the chamber for lubricating and cooling the gears. At least one collecting cavity for the lubricating fluid is provided in the housing separate from the gear chamber. A passage communicates between the gear chamber and the collecting cavity for passing fluid from the chamber to the cavity under the influence of centrifugal action effected by rotation of the meshing gears, whereby the fluid can be scavenged from the cavity by an appropriate lubrication pump. The passage is oriented generally tangentially of at least one of the meshing gears, and the passage is of restricted dimensions to provide a positive inlet presure to prevent backflow from the collecting cavity into the gear chamber at all attitudes.

  • Patent number: 4401237
Abstract: Apparatus for monitoring the depth of granular material in a container or on a carrier includes a unique probe tip and complementary apparatus, which includes a support, a positioning mechanism and a cleaner, to which the tip is fastened. The probe tip is comprised of an electrically conductive metallic strip having a metallic grid attached to one end and electrical connections at the opposite end for electrically connecting the strip to electronic equipment. The strip is enclosed in an electrically insulating sheath. A section of the sheath having a known surface area and thickness and contiguous with the metallic grid is filled with electrically conducting material. The ratio of the surface area of the section to its thickness is not less than about 20. The section has a thickness of not more than about 1.0 centimeter. The electrical resistivity of the section can be between about 0.1 and 10 megohms/cm.sup.2.
