Patent number: 10816287Abstract: A bolt carrier speed control apparatus that is configured to provide adjustable speed control of the bolt carrier during firing of a round of ammunition. The bolt carrier speed control apparatus is configured to be mounted in a first location or a second location. The bolt carrier speed control apparatus includes a body that is cylindrical in form. The body includes and interior volume and further includes a central bore extending longitudinally therethrough. Circumferentially disposed around the central core are a plurality of movement assemblies. The movement assemblies are configured to move in an inward-outward direction that is facilitated by traversal of an adjustment screw through the central bore. The movement assemblies include a wall engagement member that is configured to extend beyond the external surface of the body so as to engage a portion of the firearm and provide speed control of the bolt carrier through added friction.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2020Date of Patent: October 27, 2020Inventors: Carmelo Russo, Anthony Russo

Patent number: 9594498Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed in a first embodiment of the invention as including a non-conductive substrate providing a first surface onto which a user can apply a fingerprint. A fingerprint sensing circuit is applied to a second surface of the non-conductive substrate opposite the first surface. The fingerprint sensing circuit is capable of sensing a fingerprint through the non-conductive substrate. A navigation device is positioned adjacent to (e.g., below) the non-conductive substrate and is capable of being manipulated by the user through the non-conductive substrate.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2015Date of Patent: March 14, 2017Assignee: Synaptics IncorporatedInventors: Gregory Lewis Dean, Richard Alexander Erhart, Jaswinder Jandu, Anthony Russo, Erik Thompson

Patent number: 9594940Abstract: A method and device for compressing a fingerprint template is provided. The fingerprint template is derived from fingerprint image data captured from a sensor. The compressing process initially surveys the fingerprint template to determine one or more starting points for encoding. Subsequently, the compression process selects a starting point from the one or more starting points and proceeds to encode that starting point. After encoding the starting point, the compression process encodes all contours extending from the selected starting point. The above process is repeated until all starting points and their associated contours have been encoded.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2015Date of Patent: March 14, 2017Assignee: Synaptics IncorporatedInventors: Yi-Hsun E. Patent number: 9444944Abstract: Systems and methods performed by an IP telephony system are designed to determine when two parties to a recently terminated telephony communication are simultaneously calling each other in an attempt to re-establish a telephony communication. When the IP telephony system determines that this situation is occurring, the IP telephony system acts to connect the two parties, rather than have both of them see their new call setup attempt fail because the other party's telephony device is indicated to be busy.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2015Date of Patent: September 13, 2016Assignee: VONAGE BUSINESS INC.Inventors: Tzahi Efrati, Gavin Macomber, Anthony Russo

Patent number: 8594393Abstract: A fingerprint scanning and image reconstruction system and method including a fingerprint scanner providing a first scan line and a second scan line separated by a line separation distance in a scanning direction. The system includes an image reconstruction module accumulating scan lines including at least the first scan line and the second scan line over a time period t. The image reconstruction module a value for decimation (t) necessary to produce a selected y axis resolution in the scanning direction based at least in part on (line count(t)/line separation distance)* a selected y resolution, where line count(t) is the number of lines accumulated in time t, and decimation(t) indicates of whether the line count(t) is greater than or less than the number of lines accumulated as a function of the time period t that will result in a selected reconstructed image y resolution in the scanning direction.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2011Date of Patent: November 26, 2013Assignee: Validity SensorsInventor: Anthony Russo
