  • Patent number: 9133840
Abstract: The present invention relates to a versatile manually-actuated barrel style pump also capable of controllably dispensing a compressed gas cartridge. The current invention addresses the shortcomings of the prior art dual function pumps available providing the user with a more versatile dual function barrel pump integrated with a compressed gas cartridge dispenser as well as addresses the deficiencies from the prior art dual function pumps. Compressed gas cartridge storage methods that incorporate with the pump and user ergonomics and increased user safety will also become evident.

  • Patent number: 8413329
Abstract: The present invention minimizes the assembly time of a dispenser head by inserting a rigid seal retaining element. The seal retaining element comes in different configurations thus allowing a variety of compressed gas cartridge dispensing options. Additional features are integrated into a molded dispenser head thus requiring fewer components to accomplish a useable dispenser thus reducing manufacturing costs. Reliance on conformable plastic allows for relaxed dimensional tolerances. This method of making a dispenser head can equally apply to threaded or non-threaded lance housings.

  • Patent number: 8235249
Abstract: A carbon dioxide cartridge is triggered when a lance with a piercing tip punctures its burst disc. The cartridge has a cap that has an outlet and a passage for the lance and puncturing tip to travel. The lance is pushed into the burst disc when a heat expanding substance which is stored hermetically the cap in such a way that the only direction to expand is to displace and push the lance right into the burst disc. Once the burst disc is pierced, the cartridge empties its contents quickly out the outlet. In at least one embodiment the cartridge and the cap are attached by screw threads.

  • Patent number: 8028858
Abstract: A compressed gas cartridge is pierced and dispenses its pressurized gas through a permeation element that serves as a way to regulate the rate of gas dispensed out an outlet in the surrounding housing. It has been found that the use of a permeation element can control the rate of dispensation to an almost constant rate over time, which is valuable in applications such as art preservation for just one example.

  • Patent number: 5607031
Abstract: A wheel hub and disc braking system for a bicycle which provides a bicycle with greater braking power than traditional braking systems without increasing the weight or complexity of the vehicle. The invention utilizes a wheel hub mounted to the axle of a bicycle, a rotor attached to the wheel hub, and a caliper mounted to the fork and axle of a bicycle. Because of the increased hub diameter and flange width, the entire wheel is much more rigid than traditional designs. Also, as an option to add rigidity to the system, a ring is attached to the wheel hub. The attachment of the caliper to the fork and axle of a bicycle provides the system with greater strength and rigidity. In addition, this arrangement permits the pads of the caliper to contact the rotor's inner surface, making the caliper's operation and mounting in-line with the rotor's plane, something not possible with existing systems.

  • Patent number: 5544670
Abstract: The present invention is a pressurized gas inflation device for inflating an inflatable article of manufacture. In the preferred embodiment, the device includes a cylindrical housing which receives a cartridge of pressurized gas, a head unit and a nozzle. The head unit includes a valve assembly for controlling the flow of gas through the device. The nozzle includes a means for controlling the flow rate of the gas flowing through the nozzle and a means for relieving the build-up of excess pressure. The nozzle of the device may be structured to couple in a fluid-tight manner with an adaptor of an inflation valve. The adaptor of the present invention includes a top surface, at least one side wall and several apertures for receiving fluid from an inflation device or for venting fluid from a bladder.
