  • Patent number: 10372021
Abstract: A magnetic actuator can be slid in the X and Y direction along a housing or other substrate, and depressed in the Z direction, where desired, activating a button. This is accomplished by way of magnetically engaging one, two, or more ring magnets on either side of the substrate, defining a plane. Central magnets are placed within these ring magnets and can be held in place further by a circumferential sleeve between the central magnet and the ring magnet, as well as between a ring magnet and the substrate. By arranging the polarities of the magnets, the central magnet on one side of the substrate is held away from the substrate, while, on the other side, the central magnet is held against the substrate.
