Publication number: 20240288282Abstract: The disclosed technology provides solutions for generating three-dimensional maps for use by autonomous vehicles. A system of the disclosed technology may utilize a sensor assembly for supporting a plurality of sensors that is configured to be removably coupled to a roof of a vehicle, a server rack assembly that is configured to be removably coupled within a trunk of the vehicle, an encoder assembly that is configured to be removably coupled to a wheel of the vehicle, and a user interface that is configured to be removably coupled to a dash of the vehicle. The sensor assembly utilizes an integrally formed tubular member for supporting the plurality of sensors such that the sensors are fixed at precise predetermined distances from each other regardless of the type of vehicle used for generating the three-dimensional maps.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2023Publication date: August 29, 2024Inventors: Marc Aboussouan, David Houle, Walter Condley, Anthony Smith, Nicholas Peterson

Publication number: 20240286554Abstract: A retractable vehicle step is attachable to a vehicle or truck. The vehicle step facilitates access to a cargo hold, interior, or roof of the vehicle. Advantageously, the vehicle step may provide clearance space relative to a tailgate of the vehicle by displacing a stepping member of the vehicle step in a generally lateral direction. The vehicle step desirably has a covered and protected biasing mechanism for transitioning between retracted and extended positions of the stepping member. Advantageously, the vehicle step may be pulled out from under the vehicle by the foot of a user. Another advantage is that the vehicle step is readily attachable to the vehicle using already existing connection members, thereby generally eliminating or mitigating the need for customized retrofitting and avoiding undesirable installation cost and time. Finally, the vehicle step may be configured into at least two different arrangements for attachment to a vehicle utilizing the same components.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2024Publication date: August 29, 2024Inventors: Horst Leitner, Anthony Smith

Publication number: 20240168127Abstract: The disclosed technology provides a system for managing a thermal load of a sensor. The system includes a sensor, a bracket having a mounting surface for the sensor to mount thereto, the bracket having a first flange extending from a periphery of the mounting surface; a thermal interface material disposed between the sensor and the mounting surface of the bracket to increase a transfer of thermal energy from the sensor to the bracket; and a cover surrounding the bracket, the cover including a first plurality of openings on a first surface that is adjacent to the first flange to allow air to flow onto the first flange to enable transfer of thermal energy from the bracket to the air.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 21, 2022Publication date: May 23, 2024Inventor: Anthony Smith

Patent number: 11964702Abstract: A rack assembly configured to mount to sidewalls of a truck bed can include a pair of side rails defining a support surface positionable over the sidewalls and at least one cross rail having a first end, a second end, a first length extending between the first and second ends, and one or more channels extending along a portion of the first length. In some embodiments, each of the pair of side rails includes at least a first mounting station. In some embodiments, each of the first and second ends of the at least one cross rail can secure to one of the first mounting stations of the pair of side rails such that, when the at least one cross rail is secured to the pair of side rails at the first mounting stations, the at least one cross rail is transverse with respect to the pair of side rails.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2023Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Lund Motion Products, Inc.Inventor: Anthony Smith

Patent number: 11821225Abstract: The sand-filled umbrella holder with tabletop comprises a base, a table top, and an umbrella. When deployed, the base may be operable to hold the umbrella in an upright position and may be operable to support the table top above the ground. The base may be deployed by filling the base with a filler material to give weight and form to the base. As non-limiting examples, the filler material may comprise sand, dirt, or water. The base may collapse when not deployed for easier transportation and storage. The umbrella may provide shade when open for use. The umbrella may close for easier transportation and storage when not in use.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2021Date of Patent: November 21, 2023Inventor: Anthony Smith
