  • Publication number: 20070142577
Abstract: This invention relates to a method to polymerize olefins comprising contacting a solid aluminum or solid titanium compound with a supported catalyst compound, heating the solid aluminum or solid titanium compound to cause the solid compound to vaporize, optionally activating the support by oxidation, thereafter contacting the activated support with one or more olefin monomers.

  • Publication number: 20060264320
Abstract: This invention relates to a catalyst support comprising the result of the combination of: (a) a support comprising hydroxyl groups; (b) a capping agent comprising a boron containing Lewis acid; and (c) an ionic activator, wherein at least some of the capping agent does not form a support bound activator.

  • Publication number: 20060257294
Abstract: A polymerization process is provided. For example, a polymerization process is described, including providing a catalyst slurry having a metallocene catalyst and a first oil, providing a transport medium including a second oil and combining the transport medium and the catalyst slurry to form a catalyst mixture. The process may further include introducing the catalyst mixture to a polymerization reactor and contacting olefin monomers with the catalyst mixture to polymerize the olefin monomers and form polyolefins.

  • Publication number: 20050192177
Abstract: The present invention relates to the removal of hydrocarbon residues from a catalyst and more specifically the air activation of a catalyst containing hydrocarbon residues. It also relates to extruded pipe and utility conduit resins comprising polyethylene, household/industrial chemicals container resins, and to a polyethylene resin particularly suitable for large parts by blow molding and sheet extrusion procedures, wherein the resin is made by a process using an activated chromium and titanium-based catalyst.

  • Publication number: 20050032983
Abstract: This invention relates generally to films made from crystalline polypropylene polymers. Specifically, this invention relates to films comprising crystalline polypropylene polymer compositions containing both propylene homopolymers and propylene copolymers. The compositions are prepared using metallocene catalyst systems comprising at least two metallocenes in a polymerization process that involves the sequential or parallel polymerization of propylene homopolymers and copolymers using propylene with a small amount of comonomer, preferably ethylene. The resulting polymers are excellent for use in the production of biaxially oriented films. Films prepared with these propylene polymers have a significantly broader processability range and can be evenly stretched at lower temperature compared to films prepared from traditional polypropylene polymers.
