  • Patent number: 11654889
Abstract: Onboard engine control for vehicles is disclosed herein. An example method includes determining a moving average of duty cycle periods for a power component of a vehicle for recent power load events, each of the duty cycle periods having both on-time portions and off-time portions; and when the on-time portions of the moving average are above a predetermined percentage, an engine of the vehicle remains in an on-state condition, further wherein when a current off-time period of the power component exceeds a value equal to a predetermined multiplier applied to the off-time portions, the engine is placed in an off-state condition.

Date of Patent: May 23, 2023
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Stuart Salter, Zeljko Deljevic, Anthony Spoto, Michael Irby, Ben Chen

  • Patent number: 6278358
Abstract: A secondary seat belt warning system for alerting a vehicle occupant when a seat belt is unbuckled. The secondary seat belt warning system includes an ignition switch for generating a signal indicating an ignition in an on position, a seat belt sensor for generating a signal indicating that the seat belt is unbuckled, and a seat belt indicator for producing an audible and visible indicator to the vehicle occupant. The secondary seat belt warning system also includes a control module to activate the seat belt indicator in response to the input from the ignition switch and seat belt sensor. The secondary seat belt warning system further includes a vehicle speed sensor to activate the secondary seat belt warning system when the control module receives a signal above a predetermined threshold from the speed sensor indicative of the vehicle speed.

  • Patent number: 5856932
Abstract: A method and system for determining bi-directional sneak current paths of an electrical/electronic circuit. The electrical/electronic circuit is converted into a corresponding schematic having a plurality of components and a plurality of line segments. A segment identifier is then inserted into each of the plurality of line segments. Next, a DC analysis is performed on the electrical/electronic schematic for each possible switch position combination to obtain a current value for each of the plurality of components. Bi-directional sneak current paths are then determined based on the plurality of segment identifiers and the current value for each of the plurality of components.
