  • Patent number: 10486270
Abstract: A welding system monitors the changes in the power output provided from a power supply to a device to determine the inductance of power cables between the power supply and the device. The device may determine the inductance of the power cables based at least in part on a delay in a threshold change in voltage to the device after a change in the current demand of the device, a delay in the initialization of the change in the current demand of the device after an initialization signal, a rate of change of the current drawn by the device, or a relative comparison of the voltage to the device and the current drawn by the device, or any combination thereof. If the inductance of the power cables is greater than a threshold inductance, the device may signal the user, disable operation of the device, or any combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20190351499
Abstract: A welding wire feeder includes a welding wire feed drive configured to drive welding wire towards a welding application, wire feed control circuitry coupled to and configured to control the welding wire feed drive. The welding wire feeder includes power conversion circuitry configured to receive polarized input power from a welding power source via input connections with defined polarities and to convert the polarized input power to welding output, sensing circuitry configured to detect the polarity of the polarized input power when connected to the input connections, and welding process control circuitry. The welding process control circuitry is coupled to the power conversion circuitry and the sensing circuitry. The welding process control circuitry is configured to provide the polarized input power to the power conversion circuitry only if the polarity of the polarized input power corresponds to the defined polarities of the input connections.

  • Patent number: 10357348
Abstract: A fluid manifold that consistently and reliably delivers fluids to one or more subject interfaces is provided. A branched pattern of bifurcated lumina carrying the fluid from a source to the outlets in each subject interface provides substantially equal amounts of fluid to each subject interface, thereby reducing the risk of over- or under-delivery of the fluid. A fluid-scavenging system is also included. A plurality of exhaust inlets in the interior of the subject interfaces is connected to a source of negative pressure through a channel and exhaust port to collect fluid before it can escape the subject interface, thereby reducing the risk of escaping fluid reaching the atmosphere.

  • Publication number: 20190146783
Abstract: A collaboration session is provided in which an owner computer system and a participant computer system are both members. Within this session, the collaborators are provided access to a multi-file workspace that is stored locally on the owner computer system. Initially, a set of development tools are identified. These tools are hosted by the owner computer system and are able to operate on the workspace's files. After the tools are identified, they are made accessible to the participant computer system. Later, a request is received from the participant computer system. In some instances, the request is directed to a particular file within the multi-file workspace and is generated using one of the development tools. In this manner, the collaboration session enables the owner computer system's development tools to become accessible to the participant computer system.

  • Publication number: 20190049752
Abstract: An electro-active lens is presented which utilizes a surface relief structures and an electro-active material, with a change in refractive index facilitating the change in optical properties. A molded structure and a liquid crystal are used to form a diffractive lens. In addition to the classical approach of utilizing diffractive optics and multiple Fresnel zones to form a lens, an additional structure is placed between Fresnel zones in order to improve the diffraction efficiency across the visible spectrum, and reduce chromatic aberration.
