  • Publication number: 20230321417
Abstract: An automated external defibrillator (AED) system includes shock generating electronics configured to provide at least one electrical shock suitable for a patient experiencing a cardiac event, a battery configured for providing power to the shock generating electronics, power management circuitry configured for managing the shock generating electronics and the battery, a single microprocessor configured for controlling the power management circuitry, and an enclosure configured to house the shock generating electronics, the battery, the power management circuitry, and the single microprocessor. In an embodiment, the AED system includes at least two cardiac pads in electrical connection with the shock generating electronics and including a medication delivery mechanism configured for delivering a predetermined dose of a medication to a patient when the cardiac pads are placed on the patient for shock delivery.

  • Patent number: 11529526
Abstract: An automated external defibrillator (AED) system includes shock generating electronics, a battery configured for providing power to the shock generating electronics, power management circuitry configured for controlling the shock generating electronics and the battery, and a controller configured for controlling the power management circuitry. The AED system is housed in a small enclosure that provides a hand-carryable device, and the enclosure includes an externally mounted clip that enables the device to be wearable on a user's belt. Cardiac pads are stored separately and are plugged into the device to automatically power on the device. An associated AED method is designed for a trained user to operate the AED system.

  • Publication number: 20210093876
Abstract: An automated external defibrillator (AED) system includes an AED operations block for controlling operational aspects of the AED system. AED operations block includes pads for attachment to a patient, an electrocardiogram monitoring circuitry for monitoring patient heartbeat, shock generating electronics for generating at least one electrical shock signal to be applied to the patient through the pads, a battery for supplying power to the AED operations block, a power management block for managing power consumption by the shock generating electronics and monitoring a power status of the battery, a memory for storing information regarding the AED system, a user-interface block for providing use instructions and receiving user input, and a controller for regulating the ECG monitoring circuitry, shock generating electronics, and the power management block. The AED system also includes a communications block, also regulated by the controller, for communicating with an external system separate from the AED system.
