  • Publication number: 20240092481
Abstract: A propeller according to an embodiment includes a hub and a series of blades extending outward from the hub. Each blade of the series of blades includes a core and a skin covering the core. The core may be formed of a ceramic first material and the skin is formed of a second material different than the ceramic first material. The ceramic first material of the core may be ceramic Si3N4 (silicon nitride), yttria-toughened zirconia ceramic, or alumina-zirconia ceramic, and the second material of the skin may be a polymer. The polymer skin is configured to function as a shock absorber protecting the ceramic core, and the ceramic core is configured to provide rigidity to maintain the shape of the propeller blades under aerodynamic loading, which enables improved aerodynamic efficiency and reduced noise generation.

  • Publication number: 20230286761
Abstract: A system performs a method of manufacturing a vehicle. The system includes a camera, a transport device, and a processor. The camera obtains an image of a part that is to be assembled to the vehicle. The transport device orients the part with respect to a surface and drops the part onto the surface. The processor creates a first model representing the part and a second model representing the surface from the image, places the first model at a selected drop orientation and a selected drop height with respect to the second model, simulates a drop of the first model onto the second model, and determines a change in a dimension of the first model resulting from the simulated drop. The part is dropped onto the surface at the selected drop orientation and the selected drop height when the change in the dimension of the first model meets a criterion.

  • Publication number: 20210358144
Abstract: A method of identifying a particular mask for a patient for use in delivering a flow of breathing gas to the patient is carried out by first receiving a 2-D frontal image of the patient. Next, 3-D facial information of the patient is determined from the 2-D frontal image. At least some of the 3-D facial information is compared with dimensional information of a plurality of candidate masks. Finally, the particular mask for the patient is determined from a result of the comparison of the at least some of the 3-D facial information and the dimensional information of the plurality of candidate masks.

  • Publication number: 20210304114
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for management of a fleet of machines operating in a construction and/or civil engineering project. Telematics data is received from first and second machines at regular intervals. Positional and temporal proximity is determined between the first and second machines based at least in part on an analysis of the telematics data, indicating for example that the first machine is within a predetermined maximum distance of the second machine for at least a predetermined minimum duration. If there is positional and temporal proximity, work cycle data is received from the machines and is correlated. If there is a correlation in the work cycle data, an association is generated between the first and second machines and the association is applied to enable inheritance of material type between the first and second machines to support automated mass haul monitoring, and generate and implement a construction plan.
