  • Publication number: 20230248280
Abstract: A closure adapted for insertion in a tube having a first end and an opposed second end and a bore extending therethrough. The tube adapted to draw a liquid into the tube by virtue of capillary action. The closure at least partially insertable in the first end and adapted to be slidably movable between a first position and a third position. The closure includes a substantially cylindrical body having an outer surface and a proximal end adapted to be inserted inside the bore and a distal end in close proximity with the first end. The body having a plurality of channels extending along the outer surface between the proximal end and the distal end, and a seal region extending along a periphery of the outer surface between the distal end and the plurality of channels.

  • Patent number: 8109575
Abstract: Contoured loveseat with an internal support frame forming an elongate rectilinear shape having a pair of matching long rigid parallel side panels, a pair of matching short rigid parallel side panels and a contoured top panel. The short side panels and the contoured top panels are covered by a uniformly thick cushion material. The short side panels join the top panel in a radiused fashion. A plurality of supplemental support cushions can be slidably retained within cutout portions in the side panels. The cutout portions are shaped to match the profile of the supplemental cushions. A preferred embodiment includes one side of the contoured top panel being sized for a male body and the opposite side of the contoured top panel being sized for a female body.

  • Patent number: 7952059
Abstract: The method and system focuses a projected image with a multiple rotationally symmetric aspheric surfaces and an ellipsoidal reflector-relay onto or in a user's eye. The image is projected from the first elliptical foci and is focused on the eye at the second foci. A peripherally mounted outboard projector unit uses three lenses and a substantially flat projector surface. Alternatively, an inboard mounted projector unit uses two lenses with non-rotationally symmetric aspheric surfaces and a biconic projector surface (organic light emitting diode (OLED) or curved silicon). The image projector-lens system and the ellipsoid pupil relay are correctly positioned on the head of the user by a head mount system which may be goggles, eye glasses worn by the user, or screens or shields depending from a head piece or helmet worn by the user.

  • Publication number: 20080309586
Abstract: The viewing system is a head mount display (eye glasses, goggles, head piece or helmet) with emitters on the user's nose bridge emitting an optical image towards reflector screens a predetermined distance from the user's cornea or eye. Each emitter unit is fed with a signal forming the optical image and, in one embodiment, the emitter unit has a plurality of emitters semi-hemispherically mounted to direct light towards the reflector screen. In one embodiment, each reflector screen is a semi-hemispherical reflector with a plurality of discrete reflection surfaces, each at a discrete angle for directing light into the user's eye. In another, the reflector screen is an ellipse and the reflection surface does not have discrete reflection surfaces or facets. Contacts may magnify the optical image.

  • Publication number: 20060213359
Abstract: The LYNX-UGV is ideal for construction management applications. The platform autonomously collects and transmits real-time data from a remote location to a base station for assimilation. The data including pictures, measurements, and reports are then transmitted in real-time and simultaneously to the design team members, the contractors, the construction managers, and the stakeholders in each of their own respective offices. Using the UGV as a construction management tool reduces the number of individuals on a project site location such as Engineers, Construction Inspectors, Surveyors, etc. The costs associated with personnel, travel, insurance, etc. are dramatically reduced, significantly increasing bottom line profits. The LYNX-UGV is also ideal for use in Military Urban Reconnaissance Programs, Civilian Police Departments, and Homeland Security Applications.

  • Patent number: 6294389
Abstract: An apparatus and method by which tracer compounds and combustion products in the exhaust of an internal combustion engine are more completely combusted, so that oil consumption of the engine can be more precisely and concurrently measured on a real-time basis using tunable diode laser spectroscopy. The apparatus includes a furnace capable of completely burning nonradioactive stable organobromo compounds and combustion products within the exhaust gas of the engine, without being reactive with the compounds or the resulting tracer gas or isotopic specie of the compounds. The furnace generally has at least one passage through which the exhaust gas passes. The wall surfaces of the passage are formed of a material with a high concentration of titanium, such that the exhaust gas is substantially limited to contact with the high-Ti material while within the furnace.
