  • Publication number: 20240085490
Abstract: A system for monitoring a battery module having a plurality of cells includes a sensor adapted to obtain respective cell voltages of the plurality of cells. The controller is adapted to receive data from the sensor, the controller having a processor and tangible, non-transitory memory on which instructions are recorded. The controller is configured to sort the respective cell voltages to create a voltage ranking. The voltage ranking is repeated with at least one new set of cell voltage readings obtained at a predefined checking frequency. Differences in the voltage ranking of the plurality of cells are analyzed. The controller is adapted to control operation of the battery module based in part on differences in the voltage ranking. The controller may be adapted to predict likelihood of a thermal runway event based in part on the differences in the voltage ranking.

  • Patent number: 11839975
Abstract: A computer-controlled robotic arm performs operations upon a workpiece, such as a knife with a blade that requires sharpening, by a set of one or more workstations, such as a grinder and a polisher. A position target having a defined surface profile is attached to the robot arm and scanned by a profilometer to determine a relative position of the arm with respect to a target centerpoint feature. The arm is then used to manipulate the centerpoint feature to locate operating features, such as a grinder's grinding surface, of the various workstations in the robot arm's coordinate system. A workpiece grasped by the robot arm is then scanned along with the target or another target to locate and profile the workpiece relative to the target. Based on the determined profile and positional relationships, the robot arm manipulates the workpieces so as to be operated upon by the workstations.

  • Patent number: 9867737
Abstract: An auto-darkening filter of a welding shield has a brightness-sensing unit, an optical shutter and a processor. The brightness-sensing unit generates a first signal or a second signal. In a high-sensitivity mode, the processor controls the optical shutter to operate in a dark state or a bright state depending on intensity of the first signal being higher or lower than a threshold value. In a low-sensitivity mode, the processor controls the optical shutter to operate in the bright state when intensity of the second signal is lower than the threshold value, and automatically change to the high-sensitivity mode from the low-sensitivity mode when intensity of the second signal is higher than the threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20080276356
Abstract: A ventilated safety goggle has a lens and a frame. The frame is formed integrally, is mounted around an outer edge of the lens, extends rearward to form a protection cavity and has a circumferential wall encircling the protection cavity and at least one ventilation element. Each ventilation element has a cover and multiple air vents. The cover is formed on and protrudes outward from an outer surface of the circumferential wall of the frame and has a ventilation recess communicating with a rear of the cover. The air vents are formed through the circumferential wall of the frame and communicate the ventilation recess with the protection cavity. Air outside the frame can flow into/out of the protection cavity through the air vents to prevent a user's eyes from a muggy environment. Further, the frame can be easily manufactured by machines to improve a capacity of manufacturing the safety goggle.
