    Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of immunotherapy and immunodiagnosis of autoimmune conditions. More particularly, the present invention provides peptides of the A-chain of proinsulin or insulin, which are recognized by or are specific for proinsulin- or insulin-sensitized T-cells. The present invention further contemplates the use of the these agents in therapeutic and diagnostic applications for Type 1 diabetes.
