Publication number: 20150200932Abstract: A user accesses a remote session, the connection to which is managed by a connection broker, according to a single sign-on (SSO) process. The SSO process includes the user entering his or her credentials and being authenticated to the connection broker. In addition to user authentication, the SSO process includes connection broker authentication to confirm that the connection broker is trustworthy. When the connection broker is authenticated, the user credentials are transmitted to the connection broker in a secure manner and the connection broker forwards them onto a machine hosting the remote session so that the user can be logged into the remote session without entering his or her credentials again.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 31, 2014Publication date: July 16, 2015Inventors: Anthony WILKINSON, Per Olov LARSSON, Ashley NUTTALL, Hans CHRISTENSON, Tom ELLIOTT, Steven SIGEL, Adam GROSS

Patent number: 8443367Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques that enable enhanced coordination and management of a plurality of servers cooperatively operating in a cluster of servers. In one implementation, a plurality of enhanced Virtual Desktop Management (VDM) Servers operating in a Federated Virtual Desktop Management (VDM) Cluster are provided. Each of the enhanced VDM Servers active in the Federated VDM Cluster use federated task information pertaining to and derived from various executing federated tasks. However, only a single selected one of the plurality of enhanced VDM Servers is executing a particular one of the federated tasks at a time so that each federated task is continuously running somewhere in the Federated VDM Cluster.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2010Date of Patent: May 14, 2013Assignee: VMware, Inc.Inventors: Frank Taylor, David Simons, Anthony Wilkinson

Publication number: 20080034071Abstract: Methods and systems for providing virtual workspaces are provided. Example embodiments provide a Application Workspace System “AWS,” which enables users to access remote server-based applications (e.g., thin client applications, terminal server applications, applications on hosted operating systems, etc.) using the same interface that they use to access local applications, without needing to know where the application is being accessed. The AWS automatically determines which applications the user is entitled to use, and then figures out automatically, based upon a variety of parameters, which applications are to be made available to the user (resolved to version, particular package etc.), and whether they are to be installed locally, or accessed remotely. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2006Publication date: February 7, 2008Inventors: Anthony Wilkinson, Mark Benson, Robin Crewe

Patent number: 6721974Abstract: Safety equipment for a bed includes sheeting (14) arranged to be securable to a mattress (12) and an inflatable wall structure (10) secured to the sheeting. The inflatable wall structure is arranged so as to define an upstanding wall which, in use, in an inflated condition, serves as a barrier to someone falling out of bed and as a cushion which protect an occupant of the bed from injuring themselves against the structure of the bed. The wall structure may include lengths arranged to be collapsable along lines transverse to the length to permit the wall to concertina to adopt the profile of a profiling bed.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2001Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Assignee: Genie Care Ltd.Inventor: Michael Anthony Wilkinson

Patent number: 5775400Abstract: The present invention is an instant screen door. It has a closure on a roller or rod with attached brackets that position the closure at a minimal distance from the wall, outside the frame, and at the top or above the frame, so that the closure covers the frame completely and closely, thus making it useful for barring insects, light or visibility (for privacy) since the closure may be opaque, transparent, paneled, solid or latticed. My instant screen door can be easily and quickly mounted without marring the frame and readily removed for storage or for transfer. A user simply compresses the brackets, inserts the present invention in the frame, and releases the compression. Then, an expansive pressure assembly located inside the roller or rod forces the attached non-marring brackets into static frictional engagement with the stiles of the frame.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1996Date of Patent: July 7, 1998Inventor: Anthony Wilkinson
