Abstract: A Flashlight adapter which is placed between the two pre-existing ends of a previously separated flashlight thereby allowing the intended direction of the beam to be pointed or located in an entirely different direction then was originally intended before the adapter was installed. The installation of the adapter causes the bulb and bulb housing of the flashlight to face in an entirely different direction or position rather than in the position it was facing when attached directly to its previous other half. The modular adapter also includes additional seals and contact pins which provide waterproofing and stable continuous contact of the batteries in the body of the light assembly to the bulb in the head. In one embodiment the modular adapter has an additional switch included in the top of the unit for additional convenience and lighting control.

Abstract: The invention relates to a novel hook design which provides additional safety features to reduce the potential for accidents and provides additional protection to the operator. The invention may be applied to overhead hoist hooks, chain hooks, wire line hooks, and many other hooks. The safety design features include a spring activated trigger and latch mechanism, a latch stop, a trigger guard, and a trigger lock mechanism which may or may not utilize a spring to activate it. The safety latching lifting hook provides for ease of connection (hooking) and ease of release (unhooking) with a trigger guard to protect the operator's hand and the trigger latch mechanism.

Abstract: An automated insect deterrent pump spray applicator assembly for a refuse container, said refuse container including a refuse container body for containing refuse and a lid, the applicator assembly including a body portion adapted to be mounted relative to a corner portion of the refuse container body inside the refuse container body and provided with removable cover means, a container containing the spray material, said container including an outlet associated with a depressible actuator to release the spray when depressed, and an actuating assembly associated with the body portion and mounted to be depressed upon closure of the refuse container lid, to engage the depressible actuator of the container to release the spray wherein the body portion and cover means is adapted to contain the replaceable container and prevent dislodgement from the refuse container body upon inversion of the refuse container body.

Abstract: A compound archery bow includes a bow handle having projecting limbs, and first and second pulleys mounted on the limbs for rotation around respective axes. A bowstring cable extends from a bowstring anchor through a bowstring let-out groove on the first pulley and then toward the second pulley. A first power cable extends from a first power cable anchor toward the second pulley, and a second power cable extends from the second pulley through a power cable take-up arrangement on the first pulley to a second power cable anchor on the first pulley. A set of at least first and second bowstring cable draw length adjustment modules is provided for alternate mounting on the first pulley to adjust draw length of the bowstring cable away from the handle.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for improving stability of non fluoridated sugar derivatives, and in particular glucose derivatives such as 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-O-trifluoromethanesulfonyl-?-D-mannopyranose which are used as precursors for production of radiofluoridated sugar derivatives for use in in vivo imaging procedures such as positron emission tomography (PET). The method comprises storing the non fluoridated sugar derivative in an organic solvent. The resultant formulations of the non fluoridated sugar derivative and cassettes for automated synthesis apparatus comprising the same are also claimed.

Also disclosed are a method of removing gaseous aldehydes from tobacco smoke by contacting tobacco smoke with a filter comprising a filter support material and an alkyl acetoacetate and a smoking article such as a cigarette comprising the tobacco smoke filter described herein.

Abstract: Disclosed are materials and compositions effective for the selective removal of gaseous aldehydes from tobacco smoke. The materials and compositions comprise tobacco smoke filters comprising a fibrous material or fibers of a polymeric material containing covalently-bonded acetoacetoxy residues. The fibrous material or fibers are capable of reacting with and removing aldehydes present in tobacco smoke.
