    Abstract: Heterolayered thin films having ferroelectric/piezoelectric layers of alternating crystal structures and methods of their preparation are provided. In the ferroelectric/piezoelectric thin film, a first layer has a rhombohedral crystal structure and a second layer adjacent the first layer has a tetragonal crystal structure. The layers have a (100) preferred orientation with a-axis normal to the surface of the film. The first layer can be a Zr-rich lead ziroconate titanate layer (e.g. PbZr0.8Ti0.2O3) and the second layer can be a Ti-rich PZT layer (e.g., PbZr0.2Ti0.8O3). Heterolayered ferroelectric/piezoelectric thin film comprising a plurality of such first and second layers in alternating sequence exhibits particularly improved electrical properties.

    Abstract: An explication system and method provides a storage unit for storing a plurality of words, explications corresponding to the words and a plurality of roots; segments a word to be searched according to the contents stored in the storage unit so as to segment the searched word into at least a root and at least a remaining portion composed of the remaining letters; judges whether the remaining portion has an explication stored in the storage unit; and explains the root and remaining portion according to the explications stored in the storage unit. Thus, words not stored in the word database can still be accurately explained, and the number of the words that can be explained is increased.

    Abstract: A multi-level query system and method can be applied to an information device to perform lookup and translation of a vocabulary of a foreign language. Firstly, a vocabulary to be inquired and translated is inputted via a screen of the information device to the system. Then, the system determines whether there is enough space for storing content from query of the vocabulary, and adjusts an assigned storage node according to the determination result so as to record an assignment condition of the storage node. Subsequently, the system stores the inputted vocabulary and assigns it to a corresponding position according to the storage node as well as displays a definition of the vocabulary. This can achieve multi-level query of continuous chains of vocabularies of a foreign language and also allow the query results to be switched between different levels.
