  • Publication number: 20230221311
Abstract: A method for detecting at least one analyte by electrochemical detection, a working electrode of an analyte sensor and an analyte sensor for detecting at least one analyte in a sample by electrochemical detection. The method comprises contacting a fluid sample suspected to comprise the at least one analyte with the surface of an electrode comprising a binding agent capable of binding to the analyte; contacting the fluid sample with a detection agent comprising a further binding agent capable of binding to the analyte and a label, the label comprising a metal nanoparticle with a standard redox potential E° between 0 V and 1.2 V forming a detection complex on the surface of the electrode comprising the binding agent, the detection agent and the analyte precipitating at least a part of the label onto the electrode surface; and detecting the analyte by electrochemical detection.

  • Publication number: 20100227323
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and methods for detecting or quantifying an analyte in a test sample. The device includes a substrate defining one or more microchannels and having a reaction region in a first portion of the one or more microchannels, wherein the reaction region contains a first binding element selected to bind with a first portion of the analyte. The device also includes a detection region in fluid communication with the reaction region. The detection region includes a second binding element selected to immobilize the analyte within the detection region. Methods of detecting or quantifying an analyte in a test sample using the device of the present invention are also disclosed. A method for coating a polymer with a gold layer is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060260707
Abstract: Electrospun nanofiber incorporating a binder (e.g., biotin) is used in the form of a nonwoven or composite with a substrate. The nonwoven and composite can be joined to biosensor, e.g., by binding the biotin to streptavidin and binding streptavidin to biotinylated detector, and because of the high surface area to volume of electrospun nanofiber provides increased sensitivity.
