  • Patent number: 7466683
Abstract: In a cellular communication network, first and second base stations have first and second cells that at least partially overlap in a common geographic zone. In a first synchronization step, a terminal is synchronized by receiving a synchronizing signal transmitted by the first base station. In a second synchronization step, the terminal is synchronized by receiving a predetermined signal dedicated to multiple path processing that is transmitted by the second base station.

  • Publication number: 20050143074
Abstract: The invention concerns synchronization of a terminal in a cellular communication network comprising a plurality of cells, whereof a first and a second cell associated respectively with a first and a second base station, the first and second cells at least partly overlapping in a common geographical zone and being synchronized, the synchronization comprising: a first synchronization step on a synchronizing signal transmitted by the first base station and received by the terminal; a second synchronization step on a predetermined signal dedicated to multipath processing, transmitted by the second base station and received by the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20050130644
Abstract: The invention concerns a cellular communication network comprising at least a first cell, called large-size cell, associated with a first base station and geographically including at least a second cell, called small-size cell, itself associated with a second base station, the first base station managing standby mode for the terminals present in the small-size cell, the second base station capable of taking over communication mode and using a common pilot channel.

  • Publication number: 20050123062
Abstract: A cellular communication system is provided comprising a terminal, a base station (for example UMTS) and a communication equipment designed to transmit data to a terminal and which is not provided with an uplink channel (for example using an OFDM technique). By transmitting via the TCP channel data other than those for controlling the power of the receiver base station, the terminal can control the power of the OFDM system transmitting high speed data to the terminal, the OFDM system being coupled to the UMTS network with which the terminal communicates.
