Abstract: A cosmetic item including a reservoir adapted to contain a cosmetic product such as a mascara. A guide tube extends according to a longitudinal direction in the reservoir, and an applicator is mounted in longitudinal translation in the guide tube. The applicator can take on a retracted position and a deployed position with respect to the guide tube. The guide tube has a constant inner cross-section, and the applicator has a constant and identical cross-section, except for a functional clearance. The applicator includes a smooth longitudinal first portion and a second portion including a surface suitable adapted to retain the cosmetic product. The cosmetic item according to the invention is aesthetic and simple to use, it protects the cosmetic product from air and enables an accurate metering of the delivered product.

Abstract: A cosmetic product applicator including a straight stick extending according to a main axis with a longitudinal direction, the stick including an external surface over which furrows are formed. Over at least one longitudinal portion of the stick, the external surface of the stick includes at least two helical furrows, one of the two furrows having a right-hand pitch and the other one having a left-hand pitch, the furrows meeting several times over the longitudinal portion of the stick, such an applicator having furrows with opposite pitches improving combing and separating of the eyelashes (or other hairs) when applying a cosmetic product. The presence of furrows having opposite pitches allows for an efficient use of the applicator both with the right hand and with the left hand, with an identical or similar make-up quality. The applicator is well-suited to be used in a “mascara pen” type mascara item.

Abstract: An applicator for a cosmetic product including a fixed portion having an elongated shape along a longitudinal axis defining a longitudinal direction. The fixed portion is hollow, so that it includes an elongated cavity, and it includes holes connecting the cavity and an exterior area. The applicator includes a movable portion in relation to the fixed portion, the movable portion including an elongated central core in the longitudinal direction and disposed in the cavity formed by the fixed portion. The movable portion includes protuberances, each protuberance passing through a hole of the fixed portion so that it protrudes outside of said fixed portion. The configuration of the protuberances and of the holes makes it possible to move at least longitudinally the movable portion in relation to the fixed portion. The applicator may be obtained by additive manufacturing.

Abstract: Applicator for cosmetic product having an elongate general shape in a longitudinal direction, including a fixed part and a part movable in relation thereto. The movable part includes protrusions, at least one chain having a strand forming a succession of open loops, the chain extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the applicator. The fixed part includes at least two links, at least two of the open loops on each chain being passed through by a link of the fixed part. Thus, each chain of the movable part is fastened with at least one degree of freedom to the fixed part, enabling relative movement of the chain in relation to the fixed part longitudinally. This improves quality of the application of the product and gives the applicator a sensation of flexibility, even if the applicator is constituted by a rigid material. The applicator can be made by additive manufacturing.

Abstract: An ultrasonic cutting tool for use in an ultrasonic instrument, the tool being a blade manufactured from a tubular blank by flattening a section of the blank. The blade includes a flat section designed to be used for cutting, a tubular section, and a transition section joining the flat section to the tubular section. The tubular section is joined to or includes an attachment section for attaching the blade to an ultrasonic generator and serving as a conduit to bring a cooling fluid to the distal end or to suck particles into the hand tool.

Abstract: There is provided an aerosol generating device for use with a heat source and an aerosol-forming substrate. The aerosol generating device comprises an elongate body extending between an upstream end and a downstream end, the elongate body having an upstream recess for receiving an aerosol-forming substrate and a heat source. The aerosol generating device further comprises an annular cutting edge disposed at the upstream end of the upstream recess. The aerosol generating device further comprises an ejection element disposed within the elongate body, the ejection element being movable between a first position and a second position, the ejection element extending further into the upstream recess in the second position than in the first position. There is further provided a pack for use with the aerosol generating device.

Abstract: There is provided an aerosol generating device for use with a heat source and an aerosol-forming substrate. The aerosol generating device comprises an elongate body having a longitudinal surface extending between an upstream end and a downstream end. The elongate body comprises an opening at the downstream end of the elongate body, and a cavity for receiving a heat source and an aerosol-forming substrate. The cavity is accessible through an aperture in the longitudinal surface of the elongate body. The upstream end of the cavity is closed and the downstream end of the cavity is in fluid communication with the opening. The aerosol generating device further comprises a closing member movable relative to the elongate body between an open position in which the aperture in open, and an experience position in which the aperture is closed by a first portion of the closing member. There is further provided an aerosol generating system comprising the aerosol generating device.
