  • Patent number: 10392287
Abstract: A machine is for the manufacture of a hollow glass article that includes at least one thin side wall. The machine includes at least one molten glass parison distributor, a blank mold including a cavity designed to successively receive at least one parison of molten glass, and components that form a blank of the article in the blank mold, transfer the blank into a cavity of the finishing mold, and form the article in the finishing mold. The cavity of the finishing mold includes at least one side part provided with a concave cavity to form, on the side wall of the article, a convex bulge directed towards the exterior of the article. The machine further includes a component that removes the bulge to give the side wall of the article a substantially constant thickness.

Date of Patent: August 27, 2019
    Assignee: Pochet du Courval
Inventors: Antoine Bruneau, Nicolas Castex, Denis Cavallucci, Sylvie Legastelois, Olivier Perrin
  • Patent number: 9919943
Abstract: The invention relates to a method, comprising: feeding at least one molten-glass parison into a parison mold; forming, in the parison mold, a blank of an item from said at least one parison; transferring the blank of the item into a finishing mold; and forming the item in the finishing mold. While forming the item in the finishing mold, excess glass is directed out of the base of the item so as to form a convex bulge, and said bulge is removed such that the thickness of the base of the item is substantially constant.

  • Patent number: 9670085
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a hollow glass article comprising at least one thin side wall (42), in which process: at least one parison of molten glass is introduced into a blank mold, a blank of the article is formed in the blank mold from said parison, the blank of the article is transferred into a finishing mold, and the article is formed in the finishing mold. During forming of the article, excess glass is directed towards the exterior of the side wall of the article to form a convex bulge (43) and the bulge is removed to give the side wall of the article a substantially constant thickness. The invention also relates to a corresponding machine and product.

  • Publication number: 20120297831
Abstract: The installation for manufacturing a glass bottle (1) comprises a blank mould (10) formed of two semi-shells (10a and 10b) each comprising a cavity (11) of shape substantially corresponding to the outer shape of a semi-body of the body of the bottle, means for depositing a gob of glass (8) in the cavity (11) of each semi-shell (10a, 10b), two punches each able to be moved between a passive position and an active applied position in the cavity (11) of the corresponding semi-shell (10a, 10b) to distribute the glass within the cavity (11) and define the walls of each semi-body, and means for applying the edges of the two semi-bodies against one another by applying a determined pressure to hot-weld together these edges of the two semi-bodies and to obtain the bottle.
