Abstract: A removable support with a transverse hooking bar for equipping a front panel of a container, having a front panel and an upper panel, to receive a hook of a swinging cross piece bracket, adapted to fit a transportation and handling vehicle, wherein a transverse hooking bar of the movable support receives a handling hook which is connected to the vehicle. The hooking bar is thereby disposed on the front panel, connected to the removable support. The container is locked into place by an eclipsible lock, but at the same time the removable support can be unlocked, allowing access to the front panel of the container. The removable support can pivot about an axis to a horizontal position on the upper panel of the container where it may be locked into place. The support is vertically moveable on the front panel and may be secured at the top or bottom of the panel by means of the eclipsible lock. A swinging door located on the front panel is made accessible by use of the removable support.

Abstract: A lorry fitted with a known system which allows it to handle a container in order to load it, to unload it onto the ground, or to tilt it towards the rear to accomplish a tipping operation. A platform of a detachable cradle has a jack which operates a tipping chassis. A longitudinal pivot shaft of the tipping chassis is mounted at the side of the cradle, which permits lateral tipping of the container. Another jack, and the alternative fitting of one or the other of two longitudinal pivot shafts, permits selective tipping to the right or left side of the lorry as desired.

Abstract: A tipping apparatus for a truck body includes a piston and cylinder type thrustor connected at one end to the truck body and connected at its other end to a slide on the truck chassis. Initial extension of the thrustor is converted, via a triangular push rod pivoted on the chassis and linked at one end to the slide thereby providing to a substantially vertically upward lifting force on the truck body.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to a platform having a front trestle that is designed for the handling of containers. This platform includes four ISO Standard corner fittings. The platform includes at its rear tiltable extension arms which selectively provide two rear twist locks on the platform, these in combination with two twist locks on the front of the platform provides a total of four twist locks. Because the rear twist locks can be rotated to a rearward operating position, the platform can receive an ISO type container regardless of the thickness of the trestle. When the rear twist locks are rotated to a forward retracted position, generally shaped containers can be handled as well. With this arrangement, the tiltable arms and their twist locks cannot be separated from the platform and can therefore not be lost.

Abstract: A device for handling a container on a vehicle to permit the container to be tipped about an axis at the rear of the vehicle or to be loaded or unloaded. The device has a reciprocable frame which carries the tipping axis and is caused to reciprocate along the chassis of the vehicle by a horizontally extending hydraulic jack. The device includes hooks to secure the container in a fixed position before the vehicle is used for transporting the container.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for loading of a piece of equipment on a lorry. The apparatus includes an arm pivotally interconnected with the lorry and a first jack interposed the lorry and the arm. A jib is telescopically interconnected with the arm. A movable platform is interconnected with a hook on the jib. A cable passes over a pulley interconnected with the movable platform and is hooked to the chassis at one of its ends and to the piece of equipment at the other of its ends. The method includes the steps of moving the piece of equipment rearwardly along the movable platform, the movement of the piece of equipment therealong acting through the cable and pulley to displace the movable platform rearwardly relative to the lorry until the movable platform and the piece of equipment are displaced to a position wherein they are unbalanced on the lorry. Gravity is then used to permit the lowering, by a tilting action, of the movable platform.

Abstract: The device comprises a derrick with a main telescopic arm and an auxiliary arm. The telescopic arm 9 is pivoted on a sub-frame which in turn is pivoted to the main chassis of the vehicle. At the front the main vehicle chassis 3 is mounted a cam having ramps 20 and 21 on which travels a roller mounted to the free end of the telescopic arm. In order to tip the load on the vehicle, the telescopic arm is first contracted, providing a slight upward swing of the arm when the roller 22 climbs the ramp 20. This appreciably relieves the load requirements of the tilting jack thereby enabling handling of larger loads.

Abstract: The invention relates to an improved semi-trailer for transportation and handling of standardized containers.The semi-trailer comprises a main chassis 1 and a pivoting chassis 4 connected to each other by front connecting rods 5 and rear connecting rods 6, the latter comprising a transverse spindle 16 which slides in apertures 18 in the chassis 4, itself provided with a bracket 21-22 whose free end is provided with a transverse pivot bar 33 intended to engage on the front upper corner fittings of the standardized container.

Abstract: The invention is a loading mechanism intended to be used with a parallelepiped container conforming to the Rules of the International "ISO" standard. The loading mechanism is mounted to a lorry and actuated by a hydraulic actuator to load and unload the container from the lorry. The container itself is provided with a means for storing the handling arm and framework while the container is confined to the lorry. Manually operated retractable running wheels are further provided to assist in loading and unloading of the container.

Abstract: A trailer and a demountable container for transporting loose products or refuse is disclosed herein. The container has an internal ejector slidable over its entire length for ejecting the contents therein. The trailer has mounted on its bed a centering relief longitudinally positioning the container, a pin engaging an aperture in the front of the container holds the container in a lateral position, and a hydraulic ram for moving the internal ejector from the front of the container to the rear. A guide, part on the trailer bed and part in the container, supports the hydraulic ram at intermediate points along its length to prevent the ram from bending or buckling as it is being extended. Coupling and alignment of the mechanical parts and hydraulic ram is insured automatically with the placement of the container on the bed of the trailer.

The device is adapted to be mounted on a lorry specially intended for handling boxes or containers, and provided with suitable hoist means, such as either a rocking derrick or a cable winch.

Abstract: A plant for the compression of garbage which includes at least one compactor having a horizontal pusher device disposed under a hopper to force the garbage into a container. The hopper is placed at the end of a large capacity storage pit into which the loose garbage is dumped and means are provided for transferring the garbage into the hopper of the compactor.
